Aesthetic Relic 301
This situation is absolutely fucking pathetic. It seems that they never even bothered to sound Hughes out. I read the other day that Hughes was lined up for an interview and Roman pulled the plug and demanded full attention be given to Ancelotti Nice to see that worked out. EskWeston 696
I read the other day that Hughes was lined up for an interview and Roman pulled the plug and demanded full attention be given to Ancelotti Nice to see that worked out. I doubt that is true and i doubt we approached either Hughes or Ancelotti... The papers are writing their own stories at the moment, and are able to do so because of our complete silence. changingman2000 35
If we are no clearer to finding out who the new man is then who, or what, was the reason for binning Ten Cate? Was that just done on a whim, or maybe Kenyon guessed that he might not suit the new manager?! In short, Just what the fuck is going on? Roy Keane anyone?! at least he would cause a stir. Dennis Wise? Steve Clarke? Bobby Campbell? John Hollins?
warnie_666 1,081
Well...The Club has already mentioned that they did not approach any club to talk to their manager. Which means, we are not looking at Ancelloti, Spalleti or the fiorentina coach. These are just rumours the press like to sstir up. Now, the statemet given by Chelsea also means that we are looking at someone who is not associated with any club and probably have in mind of employing Scolari as our next manager. Hence the wait, and I can see all of us getting frustrated till Portugal gets knocked off the tournament. Till, then we will see names being liked to our club for the manager's position. Fucking shambles once again which begs the question - Just what are Kenyon and Buck doing to justify their jobs? Why dont we just "Head Hunt" the new Southampton duo and be done? Roman and his little bunch of yes men are making a mockery of us. CM we helped get rid of grunt.............what about working on the board now, including abramovich see if we can't get them to fuck off and get a buyer that knows something about soccerball. said it for ages abramovich and his goons are murdering OUR club they're making us a laughing stock. regards:JBD
BlueLion. 21,491
Another one has snubbed us....Fiorentina manager Prandelli Steve Clarke anyone? Clarke and Zolo as a duo would be brilliant. If there is no confirmation from the club by tomorrow it is likely we will approach either Hiddink or Scolari after the Euros. If they turn us down, we really have no alternative but to turn to Clarkey. Edited June 5, 2008 by BlueLion
Laylabelle 9,539
Just worrying our targets have either signed for someone else, said no or gone quiet.Longer we wait longer we have to wait to start signing players and that could be a bugger..eeek

Stamford 3
My money is on a Hiddink/Clarke management duo. Its amazing though that one of the reasons that Jose was fired was that the club wanted good PR and not have the rest of football laughing at us, err Roman do you not think you and Uncle chief exec Fester are just as guilty??? Football and the press are laughing thier tits off at us now. and FB if you mention the ginger fuckwit and Chelsea in the same post again, I will personally escort you off the board. EskWeston 696
Well the big news today is that we are going to interview Rijkaard and Mancini next week. Also being reported is that Ancelotti is not off the radar just yet and he may make a last minute change of mind. I would be suprised now if anything was announced until after the Euros, if we are interviewing we would surely want the chance to interview Scolari too... Well we are risking losing some players outside of the Euros. Dos Santos and Robinho are a couple that spring to mind... but it could they may wait? Who knows. It would certainly be better to get it sorted now, but we must make sure we make the right appointment.

Aesthetic Relic 301
The Euros are a shop window as well -bound to be some exceptional new players coming into view... True, but sometimes you get the odd lemon who has a fantastic tournament, but in reality is absolute pish. I can remember Manu signing Karel Poborsky a while back after a freak goal sent his popularity soaring, and also Rangers signed Oleg Salenko after scoring 5 for a game at a world cup for Russia. The last thin I want is for us to sign a dud who has a few good games and in reality is just a flash in the pan.

I still cant get over the decision to allow Kenyon to lead the team up to collect their medals in Moscow. I mean, For fucks sake. Man Ure send up Bobby Charlton, The Bin Dippers could send up Kenny Dalglish, The Arse could put up Liam Brady, While Chels put up........................Peter Kenyon Edited June 6, 2008 by changingman2000

Our search for a new manager has been a very difficult and strange one. Unfortunately we can only speculate as to the reason why, but if at the end of the day we get the right man it will be worth it for sure.
