So what's that, the second or third time Zouma has been caught ball watching and left his man unmarked? Has all the tools but is still so raw and undisciplined.

Schürrle has been the only bright spark for us in attack that half. He's sprinting and trying his heart out but there's zero creativity in this lineup. Like many times last season, we get the ball in the final third and play grinds to a halt and our guys start going at walking pace. Players just standing rand and hoping something happens. It's so easy to defend against that and it's infuriating to watch.

This is why we need Hazard and Cesc to hit the ground running next week.

Christensen and Zouma are at centre-back = mistakes will be made through inexperience

Pre-season is boring at this point, but pre-season moaning is much worse, is annoying.

José is making tests, resting his key players for the match on Tuesday - let's not forget we played TWO days ago. we don't want muscle injuries because of overload.

And have you noticed that there are some tough challenges in those friendlies? The players aren't skinning anyone here because they're afraid of being injured - within reason.

I'll take the game against Sociedad more seriously because I expect it to be a luxury training sessions for the the debut against Burnley. But even then I won't trash the guys if they're a little bit cautious and don't show too much effort. You definitely don't want to get injured a week from the start of the season.

And seriously, when did Schurrle become set piece specialist? He's been on par with Cesc in those corners and like the commentator, I thought that FK was a goal... either way it was a very good FK.
