Cech's helmet 220
Whn did Zouma take it?He wore number 3 when we played a few days ago.
pWneR 230
I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean anything. Bamford wore 9, Baker 10 and Ake 4 and they sure won't have those numbers. Barbara, StrategiC, The Skipper and 1 other
laeth 527
Great interview. He clearly wants to stay for longer as well
StrategiC 73
Best part in his interview imo, "I know Ashley Cole was here, he set a high level and I know its going to be very hard to replace him, but I will do my best to keep the level high." Popular Post! The only place to be 11,313 Posted July 19, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 19, 2014 When you see his interview, you get another clue as to why Mourinho wanted him. Jose places a huge emphasis on character and Luis seems to have that in abundance. Not gonna get to hung up on his number. As Skipper says it may well just be the club leaving Ashley's old number free for a year, as they may well do with Lamps. It's a lot of pressure taking that number, but it's not like 5 is that weird of a number for a left-back to have. I'd also be surprised if Zouma took 3.Pleased with his full interview (transcript here http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2014/07/first-words--filipe-luis.html?WT.mc_id=social_20140719_28125906) and how he talks about defending first and the importance of not conceding (typical Jose player) but I can't fail to be impressed with the way he views himself.Might sound like a broken record but compare what he says with what Lukaku says and you'll see the difference between a Jose player and a non-Jose player.I try to be the most complete player as possibleLast season was brilliant but I’ve come here to do exactly the same. Not 'I am the complete left-back' but an acknowledgement that even at the age of 28 coming off a league win and a Champions League Final that he still has room to improve. That's mightily impressive and exactly what Jose wants from a player. Everyone else at the club or joining in the near future, take note! Madmax 9,219
Seriously, just read the full interview transcript TOPTB posted above. Lesson in how to convey your ambition and confidence while remaining respectful and humble; he mixes a bit of steel with a bit of silk. Impressed by his manner already. Daniel1980 1,425
Just saw he's first interview, he speaks very good English he might finally teach ramires & oscar how to talk.Languages are very hard for some people and easy for others. I think Oscar's been improving. A bit.

Sidzeret 2,257
In the interview he also explains that Brazilian World Cup '94-winning defender and Deportivo La Coruña legend Mauro Silva is his idol. Mauro Silva wore #5 and while he was a center back, Filipe still jumped at the opportunity to grab that shirt for himself at Chelsea. The Mak 4,459
Says all the right things. I love him already. About to say exactly this. It looks like he'll be a great positive influence around the dressing room. And his level of English is better than mine!Even so, at least we found another Brazilian 'Luis' to take care of Oscar! Maybe he won't even notice if we tell him that 'Luiz' just changed his number and bought a hair straightener! Term-X 7,891
Good english indeed, with Ash & Lamps gone.. we're lacking players who can speak to the media and communicate with the fans. Interviews with the other brazilian lads have always been pretty redundant.

Fernando 6,585
The horizontal stripes on the new home shirt are growing on me. Look way better on the players than in stock photos.Since your all about players with punchable face, wouldn't you say that this Felipe guy falls under that category as well?
