Sheva. 5,373
He was playing well before getting injured also. I really like how he's so calm on the ball in tight spaces, even our freaking no. 10 can't do some of the things Luis can. CFC888 219
Played a fantastic game yesterday, by far his best in a Chelsea shirt.Put in some great tackles and was useful going forward. That ball into Cuadrado early on was mesmerising!

ZOS 580
I like how he basically sprinted at players who had the ball in almost an arrogant "I know with certainty that I'm taking the ball from you" kind of way today. I audibly laughed a couple of times today. yeah, I've noticed that too ... showed them little respect

MrExcalibur100 7,124
We're just a better attacking team when a natural fullback is playing his natural role. I don't give a damn how good Azpi apparently is in one-on-one's. Incredibly underused by Mourinho. I'll never understand why.
DH1988 1,348
He's wearing DBZ tshirts in some of his photos and vids so assume its a anime thing.Feel like hes starting to get with the rough and tumble of the premiership, few challenges I wish he'd go harder into but for the most part he's definitely improving and its his first season.Hope he starts more often though as Dave has had a loss of form since his injury, imo. !Hazard! 3,394
Feeling bad for the lad. Deserves playing time but where would he play? Ivanovic and Azpi are absolute undroppables at the moment. Luis Fabregas MaticI still think that formation would work in a tight game when Ramires is unavailable. He could play the role Di Maria played for Real Madrid last year. stroey, mikeholiday, Muzchap and 1 other
Popular Post! The Chels 2,502 Posted March 11, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted March 11, 2015 I think people underestimate how good Luis is at helping dictate the tempo of a game. I feel really sorry for him because in Atleti's system he was IMO the best LB in the world but he is clearly not rated here. Atleti apparently made big financial strides in an attempt to keep him at the club because Simeone recognised his importance to the team (they're having difficulties in that position this season) but he joined us anyway only to find out that Mourinho doesn't seem to appreciate his qualities. Against PSG we clearly needed more intensity, more control, more attacking impetus, more width and he could potentially have been the perfect substitute but he probably wasn't even told to warm up. For his sake I hope he goes back next season to play at the top level while he's still in his peak. I understand the imprtance of Azpi denfending, kind of releases Hazard from defending as much (which I don't agree, he's basically a 2nd left back at times) but if he's going to be a full time starter, might as well have a cheaper option to back him up, no?I'm still hoping to see him and Hazard connecting down that left flank... I'm not sure what changed but he's clearly not been impressed by him. He doesn't even consider him as an attacking substitution (let alone a starter) which is very harsh and unjustifiable IMO. Remember how Jose said that he started Cech over Courtois in the COC final because it was 'his competition' and that he'd been involved throughout? Well Luis was the only player to take part in all of our COC games before that match but I don't doubt that Jose had no qualms in dropping him for the Tottenham game. I've been wanting to see him and Hazard as regulars on the left flank since we were rumoured to be interested in him but it doesn't look like it's ever going to happen now, sadly. I wonder what he had to fear on that left side from a PSG side without the super fast Lucas Moura and Marquinhos as right back. Everybody knows Hazard is almost unstoppable when he has a fullback who makes overlapping runs to play off of. Everybody knows how good Luis is going forward and how PSG were going to try and double mark Hazard. Everybody knows Azpilicueta is right footed, so he has to check back to his stronger foot to either get a cross in or sometimes even make a forward pass. The split extra second he does that slows our tempo down. Everybody knows these things, including Mourinho, but because he's such a laughably defensively minded manager, he did nothing.I almost burst out laughing when I saw Azpilicueta trying to make overlapping runs when we needed a goal, but then checking back on his right foot or then not driving all the way to the by-line because he is not comfortable there. Azpilicueta has no business playing on the wrong flank when Filipe Luis is in our squad. The Chels, zolayes, manpe and 1 other
