My problem with Costa is his head. Chels can't afford to sit on their arse and let Costa lead the dance with his inconsistent commitment to the club.

I'd love to see Chelsea invest big in Belotti (or Aubameyang) and then tell Costa (his agent) he can choose to stay and extend his contract or leave. The signing would show that the club will move on regardless. The club should be able to afford two star wages in just one position in the squad (won't last long anyway) if it comes to that.

But the thought of not getting a quality striker and Costa possibly becoming unhappy and this affecting his form during the season or him demanding to leave at a random point during the summer or winter window does not sit well with me. Chels needs to be in control.

I just don't think he's that bright - more Braun than Brains

Led the line for a team that has won a historic title in Spain and was seconds away from winning the Champions League trophy in the same season. Now on route to a second league title in three years in England while being the main centre forward. Might not be the most complete forward, not even close to that, but this does not come by accident. Similar to Benzema, they bring more than goals to their teams. People would expect a Real Madrid forward to be one that scores an average 25-30 goals per season. Benzema is not. Actually he's only broke the 20 goal barrier twice since his transfer from France in 2009. Still, this is his 8th season leading the line for RM. How many times people have questioned him and his presence in that team based on "not being a goalscoring machine"? Feel it's the same with Diego Costa - not a predator in front of the goal, but undoubtedly a very importante piece in the puzzle.

This is a piece from the Guardian sort of somes the bloke up I think. He come's across as childish and arrogant a good striker yes a world class striker ? the jury is definitely out.

Costa – presumably encouraged by in-house television cameras ready to capture his fun – had hijacked one of the staff’s utility buggies, parked up on the fringe of the training pitch, on Thursday and taken it on a pre-session joyride, wrecking the coaches’ neatly arranged cones en route. A set of hurdles were also smashed to pieces, Costa’s antics prompting nervous laughter from his team-mates.

I'd much rather have him than Lukaku  but sometimes he makes me want to punch my television. Like when against City he did a stupid foul on Fernandinho when Hazard was one on one with Stones. Sometimes I feel like he has little respect for the club and little care for his fellow teammates. That's the only way I can explain some of the crap he pulls on the field.

Trust me i understand that, but we knew he had this side when we got him.

MFucking appreciate the fact we even have a good striker. Seriously comparing him to Torres, do you even watch football or what?

Couldn't believe that either, Torres being compared to Eto'o was bad enough.

Mate the only good out and out strikers we had since Hasselbaink are Drogba and Costa. Thats around 15 years.

With Costa we are on two titles in three years. With Costa being, besides Courtois and Hazard the only who had giant impact.

I agree that Costa long term can be issue, because he seems to have these problems every season making him unreliable, but please...dont talk of him as if he is average, easily replacable striker.

Unless we manage to pull right strings and get third good striker in 15 years, lot of you will soon see that Costa was not just some inconsistent replacable striker, but our key player.

Its ok to mention his possible departure after all this exit talk, its ok to criticise his form.

But it should be self explanatory by every chelsea fan that Diego is one of our best players in recent years and should get all the respect. People seem to forget what he gave to the club.

This same thing went on in Eden thread year ago, screaming to be sold. Now everyone is kissing his ass again.

Part of supporting club is also supporting players when they are not in form, not try to sell them the second they underperform. Yet all you see in this forum is as soon this or that player has shit game, comments incoming lets replace him with someone...

Its just so sad when people scream for Lukaku and Belotti when the odds are they will perform worse than Diego. And yes it can happen. Would be funny to laugh at some smartasses then, but it realy has no point.

Fucking appreciate the fact we even have a good striker. Seriously comparing him to Torres, do you even watch football or what? And just to remind you and others, 4 months ago, Diego was definately top on form of 5 players in the world, more important than Eden or whoever else. Dont forget that.

I never compared him to Torres. But I will now - Diego Costa is a lot better player than CFC Torres ever was. I only wanted to say that scoring 20 goals a season isn't that special, that even CFC Torres did it once (STILL BEING MUCH INFERIOR PLAYER TO COSTA: to ensure myself no one will be putting words in my mouth again :) ). Especially in a title winning team when he scored 21 goals (CFC 2014/15). Or you want to tell me Costa had amazing season 2014/15? Do you know Diego Costa scored ZERO goals in UCL in 2014/15? And he is irreplacable? Why is that? Oh, yes, we had Torres, now Diego is irreplacable. Add to that that he clearly wanted out of the club, that he is regularly talking to media that he could go to China or wherever ("yes, I could go, you never know"), add to that that he really doesn't care if he gets red card (rugby off ball tackles) and leave his team hanging, add to that that he will always cause some problems. Yes, I AM watching football, but maybe some of you are not seeing Diego Costa and that our club is becoming his b**ch.

I'm still waiting someone to explain me what is all the fuss about him. I was over the moon with him too at the moments (when we FINALLY got ok striker (2014) and recently - months ago when he was playing good). But when I look at it more globally, more long term, when I calculate all the good and the bad... this is what I get.

I'm not saying that he is average, I'm saying - we can do better, that better being striker you could actually count on. And to do better than this is not THAT hard as someones think.

conte needs to grow balls and drop him for one game or two. costa thinks he's untouchable and irreplaceable so whatever he do he will be in the starting squad next week. fucking frustrating to watch

Yeah, maybe we can win this way, right?

I used to be the biggest Costa fan but now I genuinely think he's playing terrible on purpose to force us to sell him in the summer.

Some of the stuff he does during games is absolutely scandalous. Scuffing a pass with his left when the ball is on his right and he can feed Hazard on a breakaway? Horrendous technique when completely unmarked and a shot which would have ended up in the streets if it wasn't for the deflection? Completely ignoring the best passing options and always choosing the bad ones? These are just some examples off top of my head, but my point is that they are not anything you'd expect of a simply out of form or 'donkey' striker.

For me his head is completely gone. Win the title and sell him the fuck to China in the summer. That's all.
