Diego Costa

Not forgetting that he also did some good defending a couple times

Yeah. Did track back to cover Hazard when he was out of position which happened quite a few times and made a few decent clearences as well.

An overall performance from the lad.

Don't expect him to calm down anytime during a game. Just pumps him up even more. Love that attitude. Gives the opposition no chance to muscle him around which we saw a lot with Torres.

He has to improve in the aerial aspect though. lost nearly every long ball in his first 3 games. dont know if he can improve in that aspect as he isnt used to it. Spanish League isnt playing with monsters as CBs.

I think now that Suarez is gone the media is desperately looking for a new 'enemy number one' of the PL and because of Costa's temperament they are blatantly forcing it to be him. He started nothing yesterday and he only gave it back as much as he was given, yet he was painted as the villain. As you said, it is so pathetic when the commentators, opposition managers and even the referees get caught up in the narrative that is being forced on Costa. It's "Costa should calm down" instead of "Coleman should stop acting like a bellend" and Coleman as the victim etc. Pathetic pretty much sums it up, but I think it will only motivate Costa even more.

Don't worry. Super - MARIO is here!!!!

What's the ETA on him doing his first idiotic thing.

It's one of his weaknesses as a player. His leap is poor and his timing is off. He's not the guy to be lumping long balls too. Which is why I hope the players will soon only use long balls as a emergency option.

He's made an absolute brilliant start to the season. That's key for any new player, strikers especially. Confidence is sky high, the fans have witnessed his quality and opposition teams already fear him. Now we can only hope he stays fit, keeps this up and trophies will follow.

Costa' second goal just typifies how cool, calm and collected he is in font of goal. As he was through Distin decides to throw his body in the way to try and block his shot, instead of turning onto his stronger foot Costa decides to go the opposite way, away from goal, does a little step over and finishes it with his weaker foot. What a goal.

Now imagine if that was Torres, he would have panicked and Distin would most likely have blocked it.

Diego laugh is best :D please can anybody translate Diego joke at the end?

I believe he said "es un poco palomo...". My spanish dictionary says palomo may mean a dove or in informal speech a person who is amiable, good, harmless, soft, naive. But he says he's a great goalkeeper anyways.

And Courtois as Costa's translator is just

Hey guys long time lurker around here.

Just gotta say I'm loving this guy already. What a beast and he shows tremendous passion as well. Like the guy above me said, he definitely embodies everything about Chelsea to me.

Long may his scoring form continue!

well, I hope we can time well his yellow accumulation suspension, so he won't miss any capital match, but it seems like he'll be getting a few of them.

Someone enlightened me the other day about the rules, but I already forgot, 5 yellows = 1 game (this one I remember well) and 10 yellows = ?

I can see him being suspended at least once, but maybe twice if the referees continue to being cunts about it. It's a relief to have someone else to replace him other than Torres and I think our whole approach changed, so it also helps other goal scorers.

But it's not only his goals we'd miss in a match. He fires everyone in the pitch up - his teammates positively and the opposition in rage.

Sorry, maybe it's latin blood in my veins and how the game is played at his side of the globe, but I LOVE some provocation on football. Of course, I don't like the violence, but a few words thrown here and there, as well as soft shoves in set pieces? Come on!!!!! This is part of the sport. It's physical, it's a contact sport, it's a manly sport, excuse me if I want to see some virile dudes behaving like lions in the attack from time to time (again, I don't like violence, only the provocation).

So I took a bit of pleasure of what he did with Coleman prior to Coleman's OG, he responded to the provocations - without violence - and showed him and everyone else that we aren't a bunch of scared bambis. I love it. So I guess I'm a bad person?:carlo:

I think we'll miss his positive attitude and leadership as much as his goals in the matches he eventually won't play for us.

I believe the next 5 after the new year would be 2-3 suspensions? I may be wrong.

I agree, football is not just about the play, but the emotion behind it. I love that he isn't going to lie down like some bitch and will go all out to prove his point. Even Torres' best games usually come when he is fired up. Sadly it didn't happen often enough. As long as he isn't biting and causing injuries I think it's a welcome sight to see that side of him.
