Diego Costa

I hope now that Costa has come out to slander Conte in public that Conte himself speaks about the situation. He's got to defend himself here. This interview makes it sound like a lot of our players are on Diego's side and we can't have a rot forming through our squad again.

Nip it in the bud.

No. This interview makes it sound that a lot players likes Costa, and there is nothing more than that. There is no Costa vs Conte thing there. You are being silly.

The headline says Conte is distant with players.

Doesnt matter what Costa said or did, the board and possibly Conte acted completely opposite of professional.

If Costa wanted to stay here, thats first thing Chelsea shouldnt be messing with. He was alright player.

If we wanted to sell him, then fucking find the buying club, make a deal and au revoir.

This whole saga with sms's and Conte vs Costa and Costa being exiled doesnt help our club one fucking bit.

There should be only two options;

Costa playing elsewhere or Costa staying here in good relations. Period.

I dont defend Costa, but if someone is acting like a dick, you dont act like a dick back. We are bigger than that. But seems the board, Conte or whoever the fuck is dealing with this matter is totaly incompetent.

We are now with unhapy player, who could be quality player and on top of that the way we are dealing with this could set players and coach apart. Overreaction? Maybe but we all know we had massive fuckup under Mou.

And I bet if Costa was realy happy here and Conte told him he aint counting on him anymore just like that, well Im sure players wont be happy at all. One way or the other the cracks will show.

Conte and Costa seemed to get along perfectly fine and were often seen smiling and joking with each other before that China stuff happened in January. Why would Conte suddenly decide out of nowhere to not want Costa? Something serious had to trigger that.

The most obvious scenario is what we were led to believ all this time. That Costa had his head turned at a critical time in our season, wanted to go, and Conte didn't take kindly to him trying to derail our title March.

Essentially sacking him via text was ill advised, sure, but Diego trying to make Conte and the club out as the bad guys is something else.

Going by what I saw in media one thing Id point out;

Costa said he didnt want to go to China because he wants to play in world cup next year.

Also if his words are true today, he was about to renew back in january but someone stopped it. Conte or whoever else...

That means; althrough Costa wanted out last year, he wanted to stay and even extend this season.

If he was about to renew and board eventualy said no, giving clear indication he wont be here come summer, it makes sense why he stoped playing at his highest level.

I also remember Eden and others being extra happy when Costa scored his first goal after all that drought, indicating the players were firmly behind him.

It just doesnt make sense why whole squad would be still huge pals if he wanted to fuck us and leave; as the media points out.

What if it was as simple; Conte being strong character decided Costa is off and that was it. Could be for the most simple thing, discipline. Obviously the relations between Diego and Antonio got sour in january, if Diego suspected Conte pulled the break on diego extension.

Bottom line we all see how stupid our board is working this summer, selling Matic, not bringing depth and quality etc...I wouldnt be surprised if the fault for this poor relationship between Chelsea and Costa was the board itself.

And if you take the negative points out, Costa and Matic were huge huge players in our title winning seasons. And now we have lost both. That alone is just messed up. Every other club would find third way and fix the problem in nice way. We just went five steps back. From pl winners to maybe top 3 this season as it looks right now.

Edit: I just remembered, the day Conte had final conference, Costa dragged him out, pointing its party time. They seemed very happy and all even then...

Well now. Now that you lay it all out like this I'm questioning everything as well. Still, if it was Conte's decision I'm glad the club backed him. If he thought he was too big of a risk then we were right to move on.

Anyway, I hope this all gets resolved quickly so both sides can move on. Last thing we need is more distractions and for the manager to be undermined.

The slant of the interview certainly allows people to take some pity on him. However, the situation is still the same.

He wants out but wants Atletico and Atletico only.
Chelsea want the minimum going rate for a 20+ goals striker.
Atletico have a transfer ban until January and want a lower fee.
Chelsea do not care about their ban and would sell to whoever meets the price.

Listening to Costa, you would swear things are very straightforward when they are not. He is not making things easy at all and hasn't done since January. In many ways, I am sad to see him go, mainly because he is the one who has instigated the move with his behaviour and desire to go back Atletico.

Conte should have never sent the text in the first place, it gave Diego exactly what he was looking for: the perfect excuse. He has acted like a child since and proved Conte's reasoning in many ways. Now I just want him to leave.

And I thought Neymar was the football villain of the year...

I have never felt disgusted by a Chelsea player until now! He can fuck right off!

If he really really cares about us fans he wouldn't have spoken at this particular difficult period for the club, and surely not in this unprofessional way.

Fucking crybaby.

Weird. I've seen a lot of Costas interview in Brazilian press and I've never seen he complaints about life in England. This talk just doesnt make any sense specially when there was a rumor saying he wanted go to China...
