Conte: "On Tues during training Diego felt a pain in his back. From that moment he didn't train. For this reason he wasn't available."

Conte, asked again about the Costa situation, says 'this is the truth' about his previous answer. Says he knows nothing of Chinese interest.

Conte is asked if Costa will train next Tuesday: "It is importantarrow-10x10.png to understand his physical condition."

Conte is asked if Costa will face Hull if he is fit: "I prefer not to reply, when the question starts with 'if'."

Conte, pushed one final time on whether Costa will play for Chelsea again: "Why not?"

Costa was not in the squad following reports of an argument with the Chelsea coaching staff over back pains the striker reported on Tuesday. But Alonso, who scored Chelsea's first two goals in Costa's absence, said all was well in the Chelsea camp.

"You guys made up the story," Alonso told the BBC after the game. "Diego wasn't feeling well because of his back. He's very happy and will have a great enough season at Chelsea.

I suppose it's possible that this bloke, who ever he is, knows something. On the other hand, it seems more likely that this is just a ridiculous extrapolation from Antonio!s post match press conference. In that conference he said, a number of times, that the players are training again on Tuesday so we'll see. Taken in context, that simply meant Tuesday would be his earliest opportunity to see how Diego's "injury" is progressing.

Dont forget that he is the best possible striker we could have right now. Well, maybe Suarez is even better, but he for sure aint coming.

Auba, Lukaku, Belotti, etc are all several levels below Costa.

I hope there was nothing serious and we manage to keep Diego here.

just watched the first half of Everton vs Man city and realised Lukaku will fit perfectly in chelsea. no need for any adjustments since he is already experienced in the epl.

y the hell did Mour sell in the first place. i hope this situation doesnt end up like Man U and Pogba.

Well, is Costa said he was feelling his back, medical staff said he had nothing, and Conte was behind the medical staff, and even told Costa to "go to China", I will start to question Conte ability to manage his players. That game where Costa asked to be substituted and Conte refused was a bad sign, since the game was over, and Costa was not needed to get a positive result at that point.

Ok, someone will say "read Pirlo's book" to prove Conte is really good in managing his players, but he is in a different environment. A former Juventus legend working in Italy for Juventus is a different animal than being an italian guy in a english club full of foreign players.
