Thor 2,717
He has instantly become my favourite player. Didn't take long. I love the fact he is no nonsense, and just goes out and gets it done, while being himself and not caring what others think on top of that. A lot are waiting on him to go crazy and snap or whatever, but I think he gets it enough to know how far he can and can't go. I think he knows EPL isn't La Liga, and certain things that fly over there won't go over here. Hoping he keeps this scoring up. Phenomenal player. Madmax 9,219
I think now that Suarez is gone the media is desperately looking for a new 'enemy number one' of the PL and because of Costa's temperament they are blatantly forcing it to be him. He started nothing yesterday and he only gave it back as much as he was given, yet he was painted as the villain. As you said, it is so pathetic when the commentators, opposition managers and even the referees get caught up in the narrative that is being forced on Costa. It's "Costa should calm down" instead of "Coleman should stop acting like a bellend" and Coleman as the victim etc. Pathetic pretty much sums it up, but I think it will only motivate Costa even more.Wouldn't happen had Costa been British. Coleman is painted as the 'honest lad' while Naismith was described as an " honest blood and nettles" (or something) footballer by Peter Drury (hate him) on commentary. It went something like "Well you can have your multi million pound strikers like Costa but Steven Naismith, an honest blood and nettles free transfer from Glasgow can also do the job" The Chels, The Mak and Barbara
TLaw10 28
Anybody notice Costa favoring his hamstring at all? I didn't see much, just curious. Hopefully this break will be ample time to get right cause he's in "Beast Mode" right now!

Thor 2,717
Anybody notice Costa favoring his hamstring at all? He didn't seem to mind scoring with either of them. Right one was on point in the first minute, and the left one finished the game off for us. TLaw10

Daniel1980 1,425
Now that Falcao will play in the PL, Costa vs Falcao comparisons will be inevitable, considering that Costa played second fiddle to Falcao at Altletico. Some of my mates (United fans) already use this as a "proof" that Falcao would do even better than Costa. Major logic fail.Hope Diego outscores him. Namika 922
Costa will be PFA player of the year so that should shut everyone up. I just can't wait to see him against Kompany, should be fun. bababoom

I think Falcao may have been the better goalscorer. But he is coming off a lengthy ACL injury so who knows? Essien was never the same after his. Personally I feel that Costa is someone who improves the team as a whole, kind of like Mandzukic at Bayern. Gomez was the better goalscorer imo but it was with Mandzukic that they were a real powerhouse. Similarly, Falcao was great winning the EL and Copa Del Rey, but it was with Costa that Atletico managed to break the duopoly and win La Liga almost the CL. Still, I do hope that even if Falcao scores loads, I hope that MU won't get a CL spot so that they have some financial problems to contend with. As it stands MU have insane money to spend with their brand name and sponsorship deals. Not saying Atletico would definitely have pulled a win if he had played... but who knows? A single goal in the right timing can completely swing morale. He was screaming at players to press and he was so angry when they didn't. My god, I think this guy could swing and plant one on my nan's chin and I wouldn't care. bababoom 4,478
Yes, many United fans saying 'he was backup to Falcao' like that proves Falcao is the much superior striker.. in my mind it's just petty, both are fantastic world class strikers and it's great to have them in the PL. I've been reading up on Costa and his rise over the past few years has been incredible, three years ago he was almost sold to Besiktas but it fell through due to his knee injury. He was loaned out, played out of position, but he kept on fighting and never gave up.

Cholo 428
I just love Diego Costa and such type of players. Always provoking, trying to jangle the nerves of the opposition, insulting and showing no fear. I love it! Those are the players you hate in opposing teams but love when they are in your team. They win you matches and push the team to a new level.Having grown up in a socially weaker quarter and learning the ropes by fighting and struggling, I can really identify with him and his behaviour on the pitch. I just love Diego Costa! Styles, TLaw10 and termninja
