What I dislike is that every player wants to keep the ball instead of pass it quickly and open WH defence

Etoo's game style reminds me Miroslav Klose's. Always wanting a piece of the action, pressing the defence/GK and looking for that typical poacher's finish.

Mikel is just doing his job - Slow down play and support the back four. Mou knew this when he put him in the starting xi

Which is the exact opposite of what's needed.

Mikel gets the ball, takes 5 touches, and then passes it backwards or sideways. Laborious and boring. He offers nothing. He should only be used as a defensive sub when we're up 2-3 goals or in cup games.

Agreed. From what it sounds like, Matic should be playing to help the transition in attack. Likewise with Ashley not playing and the stupid Azpi at LB experiment.

Matic would also help nullify the only strategy they have - lump it to Carroll.

@The Skipper, to answer your question: we have played alright in the first half. Not good, but not bad either...

West Ham is defending with 11 men, so it is hard to break through their defense. Things are quite difficult and the lack of space is huge!

We have tried with some mid-range shots (a few quite dangerous, btw), but at the end of the day we have just been way too bureaucratic with our passing and movement. We need more creativity and speed, but it isnt like the players haven't tried. We even look like Barcelona in a bad day (where the players keep passing to the side while doing nothing productive), but it isnt like we stunk. The only thing that has truly been horrible is our set-pieces, other than that, things were at least decent!

Overall, I would realistically give us a 55/100 for our first half performance.
