TorontoChelsea 4,064
United relied a lot on Van Persie and Rooney to create something magical. They are two fantastic players and without them the team is mediocre. Obviously, you can't take any team lightly, but this is the weakest United side in a long time. BlueLion. 21,491
Yeah and with United being the major underdogs for this game, Moyes will thrive under it. It's in his nature to upset the apple carts when people least expect it. Has proved so at Everton and he did the same when they played Arsenal this season. Can't afford to take them lightly at all on Sunday, however average they have been.Glad to see someone else realising this won't be a walk-over. This is Manchester United, not some flash-in-the-pan like Southampton were earlier this season.
emmanuel92 6
This is a 3 point for def..If we want to prove we are title contenders this are games we should win at home with a bit of comfort... It won't be easy as everybody expects us to win the game.. But one thing I know for sure we won't be complacent infact Mourinho will pump up the guys..with competion stiff in the midfield especialy with the arrival of Matic..The players chosen for the pivot should up their game to secure their place for the next fixture.. didierforever 7,349
looking at everton right now, i would say moyes UNDER-ACHIEVED with them.also, as far as i remember moyes dint win a match at the home of big 4.as for united their one win against a top 9 (9 for god's sake), came against an arsenal team who had played chelsea, pool, bvb and united in a space of 10 days with almost the same team.as for the "big-match stigma", u need to have big players. rooney and rvp are those. when u take them out, do we really even expect welbeck, januzaj to be THOSE players? i for one expect a win, a simple win. anything else would simply be outrageous, specially since we went to OT with the simple hope of getting a draw. we should be winning this match. Peppen 934
Not confident about this game at all, but eh, I am a pessimist, so Would LOVE to see Matic get a shout in the 2nd half if everything bodes well. Going for 3-2 Chels, but could definitely see the headlines of 'MOYES TEACHES THE SPECIAL ONE A SPECIAL LESSON AT THE BRIDGE' or 'Chosen One smashes The Not so Happy One'... ANYHOW, GO CHELSEA!!!!!!!!!!!! :blue scalf:

We have nothing to fear but fear itself.Watch us overun them in the second half...Wish I shared your optimism and confidence. Think it'll be a very tough match. They're like a wounded animal with its back against the wall. A win for us here could potentially end their top 4 hopes. A win for them could catapult them right back into things with their star players close to returning.I'll be praying to the football gods all weekend. Haven't wanted to win a match this badly since the Arsenal game a little while ago. I want to smash these arrogant pricks.

Jase 43,479
Interesting...http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jan/17/david-moyes-jose-mourinho-manchester-united?CMP=twt_guThe manager did not rule out playing without a dedicated striker at Stamford Bridge, where Mourinho has never experienced a league defeat. "We could. When you are a manager your job is to find ways to win the games and I think that is what José has done over the years. He has played in different ways to win games. Maybe it would have been reported differently if I had done it."

No striker.. when we have Hernandez and Welbeck? Don't believe it - Danny will start or at least he should! To go to your home ground and play some stupid new tactic he's been working on with Phil Neville is quite honestly seriously worrying. Moyes needs to remember he isn't Jose Mourinho and tinker way less with players and tactics. He needs something solid nailed down and working. To be fair though, RvP and Rooney are a big loss, but it's not like Kagawa and Welbeck/Hernandez can't play football. He's not being forced into it - he's still choosing it. I'm still showing my support to the manager, but he honestly does bemuse me sometimes; he does himself no favours. The way to beat Chelsea is attack them - if there is a liability/weakeness it is in defence, with the two central defenders looking very dubious at times. Either road, this is a massive game for us, and if we lose it we surely can't win the title. Win or draw though and we should reap some reward. JayC 171
That defense that's conceded once in its last five matches? That defense? That still doesn't change the fact, that in central defence you can be exploited. Mourinho has a very well organised *unit* as he mostly always does. This is what keeps the clean sheets. My point is simply that CB is somewhere you can be exploited - Terry isn't the player he once was.

JayC 171
Terry is having one of the best seasons in years; he has been immense this year. One of the best in the league. Don't mistake my comments for putting him down to a level of useless. I'm just saying this is where I think you can be exploited. The problem for the most part is being able to, with good defensive midfield cover and team work. Terry is still a good player, yes. A shade of the true player though, and coupled with dodgy defensive partners I think it's an area of weakness.

Hybrid Angel 2,130
Like Mou said in his press conference, we're not playing against just a mid-table team, we're playing against the champions. Getting the three points is extremely necessary in this fixture.I know most of you prefer Torres in the starting line up but I personally rather have Eto'o. His positioning is nearly perfect. Although his finishing is not as good as it was few years ago but the fact that he is so good at positioning is the reason I want him to play on sunday. Come on Chelsea!!!
