your points are the same as the previous post.

for rooney- there was no other WC striker available. cavani, falcao, lewa, rvp, aguero. only who was, was rooney and i have already given my view point on why it was not a waste of time, and that there was still a lot of point to pursue rooney. next year, we might let go off all the 3 strikers we have right now and still be in search for a WC striker. but who?? i dont see any1 except rooney coming for less than 40mil. but with rooney, with only 1 year left on his contract, and with chelsea being interested for more than a year, we might be able to snatch him.

do u actually think jose dint want lukaku. i mean why would a manager send out a 20-year old striker against bayern munich with just 10 men, if he dint have faith in him? or even why would jose let him take the all important last penalty??? that shows faith. but jose knew that lukaku with 3 other strikers would not get one-fourth of the time that he would now get at everton. hence he took the decision.

ba is jose's responsibility but i dont think jose personally makes phone-calls to clubs and agents. he had made it clear long before the deadline day that ba was not in his top 3 out of the crop of 4 strikers we had. but the board were unable to get the deals done. what can jose do then?

for me, mata's defensive liabilities have decreased exponentially. infact he is doing his job defensively as good as oscar, be it against swindon, tottenham and bucuresti. i mean compare this mata to the mata that played against basel. he gave away the ball which led to the corner, and dint fall back. he gets benched against fulham and then comes back with a vengence and a point to prove. maybe jose dint do anything to him, but if he can keep players motivated, then its good enough for me.

So much written, still so little said. My view is still the same, nothing has changed & nothing will.

Well, you do that & I will question his debatable dealings.

This reminds me of the Tal Ben Haim signing. Mou tends to fuck up those low-profile signings. Pizarro, Ben-Haim, Sidwell, Boularouz, Sahin the list is veeery long. I'm quite sure Otamendi -even though not that low profile because of the pricetag, but still would only be our 2nd CB backup- would fall into that category

While Mangala is a physical beast, Otamendi is the brain behind the pair...

I rate him quite well. Could be taller, but is great in every defending aspect. Good technique also...

I think Garay is in a different level, so does the Argentina coach.

Do you think he would be an improvement on anyone of our CB's?

Now, I read Otamendi likes to play a high line, so he can appear to be playing in defensive midfield, breaking up play & starting attacks. That´s common weakness of many defenders in PL, see Luiz & that might not sit well with Jose.

Don't think so... Hard to imagine him fitting in the Premier, I think he would struggle in a more "physical-driven" league.

I imagine him in top Spanish / Italian sides.

On the other hand... Mangala would be perfect.

Perhaps but look at Carvalho when he arrived. Not much on him but he was quick and technically good.

I thought this Otamendi fella was decent. But I've only seen Porto play a few times, so my viewing sample size isn't exactly fantastic. Maybe the money would be better spent on an average English/homegrown CB? And god knows, average and English go together like lime and Corona these days.
