teignman 441
This summer we saw many twists and turns in the frenzied alternate reality that is the transfer window. We started with the return of our very own prodigal son and loanees both young and old. Then we strengthened the depth of our attacking band, added a promising all around young Dutch midfielder, and finished by signing a once world class striker that we hope can rekindle his lethal form at the highest level. Oh yes, and of course, because we're us, we purchased some young attacking mid/winger types that may never see the first team, but could make us a tidy profit in the future. As per usual, we also loaned out an entire squad of players to various clubs around England and Europe, the most notable of these being Rom and Victor. So I ask the habitue of the finest Chelsea Forum kicking, how was it for you? I have chose various strikers in our history as a means of rating. Please feel free to elaborate on your analysis, and try to refrain from bilious comments, at least to one another.

Spike 12,049
Best poll I've ever seen on the internet.
BlueLion. 21,491
What a brilliant poll.Overall, I'd rate it Drogba, maybe verging on Drogba-Osgood.Very satisfied in the fact we addressed key issues (bringing in a quality goalkeeper to provide back-up and competition to Cech; as well as signing an experienced striker to add much-needed firepower), added quality to the midfield in terms of established brilliance and raw potential in Willian and MvG respectively, and brought in another "Amigo" in Schurrle who is going to have a brilliant career with us.Also we kept all of our major players at the same time as giving various players really competitive loans that will give them a good chance of improving and making the World Cup in the summer. And, of course, we've got The Special One.Very satisfied. Vybz Kartel 1,613
To be honest we really did not address our key problems from last season ie a fucking striker who actually scores and a proper central mid or defensive mid who can hold he ball and help the defence. The signings we made rather are decent but not game changing considering we already had quality in the attackin mid department Willian and Schurrle are decent players but we wont have suffered had we not signed anyone of them at all, however at least we got to address the keeper situation and got a decent back up and also im excited about Van Ginkel who looks the player. Just hope and pray that Lampard is dropped from the first team sooner rather than later for the kid to show his potential
English Freak 456
Brilliant poll.I rated it Gudjohnsen rather than Drogba because we failed to strengthen our CM/DM position. And we're overloaded with attacking midfielders.
hjperdeath 2,226
Drogba. Wasn't that bad. Satisfying enough for us.
Vybz Kartel 1,613
Ba, Torres and Etoo let that slowly sink in
drog.ba 239
GudjohnsenSome good young players brought in (MvG, Willian, Schrulle), However those who are ready to play regularly have been bought in a position where we were strongest. We haven't brought in a top striker , centre back and defensive midfielder like we needed. Letting Lukaku goes means Eto'o has to still be quality otherwise we are in for a pretty frustrating season. Cosmin 2,484
Drogba.I have a good feeling about Willian.
bushman 2,043
Well, when I used to go to school, we learned math.If I were to add it all up, the following is true.Willian for 32m Oto´o will cost Chelsea 7m. Meanwhile, Cavani went for 40m. How about Cavani bought instead of these two, Lukaku kept on & the club would have been better off ?

zolayes 14,489
close to a Drogba I think ,,,for an Osgood we would have needed Messi...Can't have everything at once ... Perhaps Father Xmas willbring him for us in December
Jase 43,479
Quality 'responses' in the poll!Would go with Gudjohnsen. The obvious positive thing we did was to strengthen our squad depth in the attacking areas. We have gone from having Marin, Benayoun and Moses as backups to probably Schurrle, Willian and De Bruyne. Can't be too angry about that even though I still question the signing of Willian. However, it's rather frustrating that once again we did not bolster and get more quality in for arguably our two weakest areas - strikers and defensive midfielder. I wonder how long more will we be complaining about those two failures till we actually sign someone capable..
