Definately deserves a contract extension wit his performances in recent weeks. He is head and shoulders above Torres and Ba right now.

Does anyone know when he will return? We need him back sooner rather than later. I don't hold out much hope of getting past PSG with Nando up top.

I have always said he's undoubtedly one of the most consistently great strikers in history.

he's always been in conversation of best strikers in the world since 2004

Between 04-07 it was Shevchenko, henry, eto'o, Between 07-10 : Villa, Eto'o, Zlatan,Torres, Drogba. He's shown world class form and performance for 7 straight years at the top level. I can't think of many strikers in the last 20 years that have been more consistent. Shearer, Henry, Raul and Zlatan maybe.

majority of world class strikers usually have dips in form, sometimes for prolonged periods and some never recover from the slump and always have to rely on reputation to still be relevant but those 5 strikers were super consistent in their prime.

He is. He is getting better and better, his goal against Arsenal was world-class.

Agreed. That goal against Arsenal is what we have been crying out for since we Drogba left. A striker getting the ball in a decent position, making space for himself and curling a beautiful finish with his wrong foot in what was a huge game for us. Lovely stuff.

Not sure he deserved nor justified the hype and accolades he got between 04-07 as he only had one great season (2004/05). His goal scoring tally for 05/06 season reads 18 goals in 47 matches and in 06/07 he only managed 6 goals in 30 apps. So he was only in that conversation for one year for me even though his goal scoring form in UCL for the 05/06 season was great.

here a goal.com article about what he's said about Pep.

I can't stand the guy (Pep) with reason it seems.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2014/03/24/4705429/mourinho-sometimes-loses-his-mind-claims-etoo

Eto'o also discussed his fall-out with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola – whom he claims wanted to send him to Uzbekistan.

The pair rowed during their time at Camp Nou and Eto'o believes he was shown a “total lack of respect” by the Spaniard, who often used Thierry Henry ahead of the current Blues star in the starting line-up.

“Guardiola has never been a great player, he was just a good player. I told him. He didnt prove anything when he arrived and he said certain things,” Eto'o blasted.

“What hurt me is that they invent things that the press relayed . They wanted to send me to Uzbekistan. I stayed at my place and I told him that he will apologize for that in the future .

“He gave the number 9 to Henry . Henry was happy. And it was a total lack of respect. I had done a lot for the club.

“Guardiola has never had the courage to say things in front of me. He passed by the players. Xavi told me they wanted me to stay but I had to talk to Pep . I say never, if you do not respect me, I do not respect you.

“He shook hands with me when I was at Inter and I played against Barça, but this was just for the cameras and TV. Behind the scenes before the match, he did not greet me."

there are also some snippets about Mourinho, but I think it was already posted in previous links.

That's Guardiola for me... for real.

In my opinion Ronaldo (Brazil) was the most complete striker of his generation. Before his first major knee injury in 1998 he was practically unstoppable: Killer speed and acceleration, fast, effective dribbling, great runs and deadly finishing. Then, after four years of injury after injury, he scored eight goals at the WC 2002 with practically no match rhythm at all. He also had to completely alter his style to still be efficient, since he had trouble playing the energetic way he did in his teens and early twenties. Still became multiple top scorer at Real and still scored three goals as a fat half-injured bastard on the 2006 World Cup.

I wonder what his stats would have been if he didn't suffer those constant knee injuries...

Samuel Eto'o rips Pep Guardiola

Published on Mar 26, 2014

Samuel Eto'o was a part of Barcelona's treble in 2008-2009 winning La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. His manager at the time was Pep Guardiola, who is currently at the helm at Bayern Munich where the German side won Bundesliga in record time. Now Eto'o has shared just how terrible of a person Guardiola was, how he played up to the cameras, and rarely ever spoke with the Cameroonian. Although his tactics are odd, how do you feel about Guardiola since Eto'o and Ibrahimovic have spoken out against him?
