NishC300 1,865
He achieved everything here, it was the right time for him to leave. The problem is replacing him, which we I believe Etoo will do until Lukaku becomes good enough.Well my point is,what is the point of having Eto'o replace him temporarily until Lukaku becomes good enough. When we could have just kept him. Personally, I see it that way. U might see it another way and I fully respect that.

When we could have just kept him. Personally, I see it that way. U might see it another way and I fully respect that.Lets not forget somethings.Overall Drogba wasnt very good during his last two seasons, except the amazing finish in the last one which gave us everything. He didnt look like someone who should play every week, he didnt look to be too determined to play every week in every PL game, it was far from the same Drogba. In CL he gave everything and was very passionate about the chance to win it, and he did.Now i dont realy know how Eto'o will be becuase i havent saw him in Russia, if he still can play 90 min 2 times a week, and he is passionate about playing a lot, and he's still a brilliant striker, and he still has pace- its an option. BlueLion. 21,491
LOL if we are gonna offer £10m+ £150-£200k per week for Eto'o then you better off sign Jackson Martinez for 40m euros and offer him £60k per weekWhat wages the players "earn" is irrelevant. Neither you or I am paying them.
Sovieticus 743
ChelsTransferGossip @ChelsTransfer9hReports in Italy suggest Chelsea are close to signing Anzhi striker Samuel Eto'o on a 2 year contract. #CFC No please. That's probably Palmeri dude and Sky Italia (or something). So probably it means we didn't even have a talk yet.
cadenza666 221
yep@ChelsTransfer45mSky Italia and Calciomercato running the Samuel Eto'o to Chelsea story so would take those rumours with a pinch of salt.
hjperdeath 2,226
Some Eto'o statistics of last season. Anzhi have played on four league games this season so can't really take statistics of that, but if you want to know about that then , he has scored 2 in 4 appearances and picked up 1 yellow card. Magic Lamps 11,692
What wages the players "earn" is irrelevant. Neither you or I am paying them.neither do we pay the transfer fees. But when we want to ponder if a move would be beneficial for the club both are relevant. Btw we buy kits, tickets and memberships so indirects we also carry a part of the costs the club got. nadavTKL 1,787
@tancredipalmeriChelsea have strengthened their contacts with Eto'o along the weekend. Mourinho leading of course, but now already talks about his wagesthe pay cut is a fact, the matter is the size of it and if 2 or 3 years of contract are offered

Phil Driver 503
Eto'o are we being serious? Come back Didier ,here we have someone who is maybe 35? but he is a young 35 in terms of legs if we want Eto'o ,I would rather see Didier return for a season. Waterfall 893
Jose wants a striker who can play between the lines, and he specifically name-dropped Eto'o. I'm sure we would strongly consider him if Anzhi accepts a small fee and the player a massive pay cut.
ulsterchelsea 3,221
I'd be happy to have him here. He'd obviously be on a reduced wage and would beour best ST option starting ahead of all 3 of our strikers. Obviously prefer Roo but IMO we need better quality than we have. Lukaku is a good player but he's not top level yet.
Mr_President 404
If we got him and managed to offload Torres then it would be perfect to be honest. It's not like he is 35 or 36.. he can still do the business but he is not young enough to hinder Lukaku's progression. Only problem is getting rid of Torres/Ba. He's already proved to score against top clubs, why can't we give him a chance? Or is sheer patience not a concept? No one will buy Torres if he's not willing to take a pay cut. Best we just make the best with him until his contract expires

He had 6 months and he messed up his only chance, now in preseason he shows no promise what so ever. Yeah patience like Torres, that was some patience...Then we keep him and Lukaku, sell Ba and signs Eto'o/Rooney/Suarez/Martinez or whoever.
