Finally starting to get some consistent playing time, and it seems that he's impressed.

Have you seen him in action??

I would really like to know how he is getting on with is development. From what I saw of him here he looked really promising. A long way off the standard required to suit our starting eleven but promising none the less.

I watch every Milan game that has been I since Inzaghi finally decided to play Marco.. And I'm still impressed with the kid, his engine is unreal 90+ minutes you can see him driving forward into the box and getting back to defend. He's been playing well and it's no coincidence that Milan midfield is starting to look a lot better than it was prior to his inclusion. Still very high hopes for MVG

Finally people begin to believe...

Considering RLC is staying, would he be better replacing Ramires?

I've never stopped believing, I really hope he stays. He could make a great squad player. We need to have better players in the bench to allow Mourinho to rotate more. Cornelius fits the bill just right

Matic was not good enough in 2011. I did like him though. He had a nonchalance in his game I liked, but that's not a good thing at such a level. He left and went on to develop, reaching a high level in a new position, changing his style and playing a completely different role. If you predicted Matic to do that back in 2011, I'd like to talk to you about the lottery and the stock market. I say I don't think he'll ever be good enough, but you can of course never predict these kind of things. That's the fun part about football.

I'd take a bunch of other players over Mikel. Not Van Ginkel, not at this stage in his career.

Only seeing this response now for some reason.

If you look at my comment again, I said nothing of me 'predicting' Matic's success; I am only questioning what makes you think that you can predict such a young player's trajectory? His grand total of 2 starts for us? His untimely injury? Or his time at a club who owe him nothing?

If a young player has not been given a real chance in the team, then I do not know how you can just write him off like that. Remember, he was still a Mourinho buy at a time when we didn't have Matic and Lampard's Chelsea career was about to end...I would rather stick with @Barbara and be optimistic about the young lad.

My comment about Matic only questions your reasoning behind your prediction, nothing else.

Fair enough. But Van Ginkel's career started before Chelsea of course. I didn't see anything in his time at Vitesse to suggest the makings of a future world class player. You can never predict these things of course, but you base the potential of a player on their performances. Van Ginkel wasn't even the best player in the Eredivisie, let alone one of the better players the league has seen in recent years. Not a great talent for me.

So I'm willing to say he's not top side material. I don't mind looking like a fool if he ends up proving me wrong.

Fair enough, but I would personally like to see more of him before writing him off completely, specifically in this team if possible. No one thought Kane was as good as he is when he was playing for Leicester or Norwich. A lot of the time I believe a player needs to right conditions to develop and shine; I do not think MVG has been given that sufficiently yet, so I can't write him off just yet.

He just needs a round of good luck to keep the injuries away. He could end up being our new workhorse in midfield in a few years if he avoids injuries

Could be sharing the box to box with RLC. Ahh, a fan can dream.

I'm not being misunderstood but he can hold as well right? Perfect backup if so.

Let's not get our hopes unrealistically up. Yes, he's been decent when he's finally been able to get regular playing time recently, but his chances of returning are still pretty slim. He's still almost certainly going on another loan next season unless he chooses to move permanently to another club.

MVG certainly has it in him to be a reliable squad player here. I'd be much more comfortable with MVG (fully developed) in the XI than Ramires for example.

I said very early last season, and I'll repeat. I see a lot of young Lampard on Marco. I hope he develops well because I see a lot of potential. I love the long range shots, I love the way he makes the transition. I really hope it works out the best. He's an update to both Mikel and Ramires imo - as it is - although I'd still keep Ramires in the team. He could be a good backup for Matic.

Him and RLC sharing a CM spot would be great.

Can't defend Ramires though. Completely ruins our rythm with his poor passing, dribbling, general footballing skills.
