Kajo 176
Hope he'll recover well from his injury he impressed me a lot during pre-season and made me sad to see him being unlucky with this injury but lets hope it'll only make him stronger and he'll be back on the pitch in no time
Jase 43,479
hopefully the injury wont effect him as much as it did Essien...Don't think it would considering Van Ginkel's game or strengths are not the same like Essien where it mainly lies on physical abilities and stamina rather than technical qualities. And moreover, Essien became the player he is now because of the number of injuries he had subsequently with ACL. MvG should be fine as long as nothing serious happens after this with the injury. *fingers crossed* Azpi had an ACL injury too in 2010 when he was at Marseille and recovered well after that. Sidzeret 2,257
hopefully the injury wont effect him as much as it did Essien...Everytime such a thing cross my mind, I immediately think of Ramsey. Inspiring recovery. Doesn't take away from the fact that he plays for a shit side and manager.

CHOULO19 24,332
Arrival of Matic does not sound good for himI don't think it affects him too much. Essien and Frank will probably be gone by the time he comes back from injury. Ramires, Matic, Mikel, MVG for next season sounds pretty good. That said, I have no idea if he'll return as good as before after an injury like the one he's had. Romeu had same injury and seems to be doing pretty well at Valencia I think both he and MVG will be great for us next year in a rotation element
Jype 6,398
Arrival of Matic does not sound good for himMatic and Van Ginkel are completely different kind of players who can easily play together in the pivot so I wouldn't worry too much. Lampard's on his last legs, Essien is about to leave and I strongly suspect that either Mikel or Romeu will probably move on this summer as well. If he makes a full recovery from the ACL and impresses Jose once he's back in full training, I have no doubt he will be a big part of the club's future. Matic, Ramires, Van Ginkel and one of Mikel / Romeu would be a great selection of central midfielders in my opinion. Would offer many different combinations of players whose qualities compliment each other, for example Matic - Ramires and Mikel - MvG etc.

He's been doing so well at Valencia despite not exactly having the best of luck there. He deserves a shot next season.
Mouri_Matic 560
Chelsea career over? CDM is never gonna be rotated and if he wants to be starter eventually, he would be disappointed. Matic and Ramires will play all the time now, well 85% of the time anyway. Hope if we sell him in the future we include a buy back clause because he could be the next Matic. 5354 204
Like the post above, definitely Ramires will be in CM slot. There are only 2 slots for CM, considering we spent so much money to bring back Matic, defintely he will slot in into CM (to allow Ramires to attack).van Ginkel is likely to rotate with Ramires. As of Romeu.... most likely a backup? I really do not see a role for him unless he impressed himself at Valencia or some other clubs.

ZanSnake 1,211
Intriguing to see what kind of role he will play next season - Frank will be gone (or even a coach? ), Essien's gone, and there still could be the outing of Mikel also. With him, Matic and Romeu (??) battling it out for the placement alongside Rambo, would be nice to see which one plays best alongside him

More of a rambo player than a matic/romeu player.
BenIsLegend 475
I don't know why but I'd love to see a pivot of MVG and Matic, something about just seems really appealing to me. Peppen and mediator

More of a rambo player than a matic/romeu player.I see him in a DLP kind of role, with potential for strolling forward. Would also agree with the idea that Romeu might not be grand for the team, but has an equal to array of talent which can be nurtured and turned to offer different styling in a position which could be tactically decisive in games/matches. Styles 9,790
Good to see his recovery is going well.Anybody else think he will go on loan next year? I suspect that he will only because of what Romeu said in the summer before he left for Valencia:"But he [Mourinho] insisted that after a serious injury and at 21 years of age, I needed to be playing lots of games. He said that it would be difficult at Chelsea and it would be better to go to a team that can guarantee me more minutes.”Obviously every players situation isn't the same and Mouinho might not have rated Oriol in the same way he does MVG.
