Myself 793
Not sure we need a player who can't stand out even in a below average Milan squad. You mean a player who just came out of a serious injury and has played about 4 games all season.Sell Mikel, promote MvG or Ake Barbara

He's 22 already--just a year younger than Oscar--and still barely has any experience and doesn't seem to have much confidence. I don't see MvG having any future at Chelsea unless he steps up and has a very good season at Milan. This is his chance. I hope he grabs it. didierforever
nyikolajevics 2,700
He could have one leg and still be better than Mikel, let's be fair.Mikel is a tough DMF, Cornelius is a box-to-box, it's pointless to compare them.. MvG is more like Ramires. Anyway, he was crap today, seriously very weak.

Milan are in a mess right now (no thanks to Galliani) and with Inzaghi being under pressure to achieve their targets this season (they haven't won a single league game in 2015), doubt he can afford to integrate young players into the first team when they desperately need the results on the pitch. DYC. 7,542
He's not good enough. He was never good enough. He was never going to play, regardless of his injury. Too raw. People complain about Oscar, Van Ginkel's not even remotely close to his level. A move back to Holland would be best for his career. Ajax would be great if they're still interested. If not them, I'm sure Vitesse would love taking him back. I don't think he'll ever be good enough for this level. Maybe a team like Everton or even Tottenham in the future, depending on how he picks up.But I'm sure the paycut will be hard to accept. Maybe he'll leave and play for the money. That's not bad either. Amblève., CHOULO19 and The Skipper

Popular Post! DYC. 7,542 Posted January 25, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted January 25, 2015 Just like Matic wasn't good enough in 2011?I would take MVG over Mikel any day of the week.Matic was not good enough in 2011. I did like him though. He had a nonchalance in his game I liked, but that's not a good thing at such a level. He left and went on to develop, reaching a high level in a new position, changing his style and playing a completely different role. If you predicted Matic to do that back in 2011, I'd like to talk to you about the lottery and the stock market. I say I don't think he'll ever be good enough, but you can of course never predict these kind of things. That's the fun part about football.I'd take a bunch of other players over Mikel. Not Van Ginkel, not at this stage in his career. We Hate Scouse, CHOULO19, Amblève. and 2 others

Milan's midfielders are very poor and if MvG is better than average, he'll be played because Milan and Pippo need the results on the pitch. Inzaghi started him against pretty good teams like Lazio and Udinese. If he wasn't so injury-prone, MvG would have gotten plenty of playing time at Milan. Regardless of Milan's current results, it's a club with a great history, so getting some playing time there will show how good MvG is at dealing with pressure. He just needs to do better and impress. So far, he hasn't impressed me at Milan. He's not Chelsea material (at least not yet). I want an upgrade on Mikel and Ramires, but at least right now MvG isn't the answer. mccg
didierforever 7,349
Did people watch the Lazio Milan game?? He was poor. The whole Milan team was poor. Got owned in the midfield through out the game. Grass is greener syndrome. The way our midfield has been liable this season defensively, we don't need a second hand mid fielder, we have Rambo for the job. We need a first teamed like pogba to solve the problem. robsblubot

I would really like to know how he is getting on with is development. From what I saw of him here he looked really promising. A long way off the standard required to suit our starting eleven but promising none the less. Barbara

And I'm still impressed with the kid, his engine is unreal 90+ minutes you can see him driving forward into the box and getting back to defend. He's been playing well and it's no coincidence that Milan midfield is starting to look a lot better than it was prior to his inclusion. Still very high hopes for MVG DDA and Barbara
Thendo 1,088
Watched most of the Milan game last night, and he was quite impressive tbh. Also heard hes been doing well overall when given gametime.Maybe recalling him for next season could be an option if Ramires/Mikel leaves. He could make a great squad player. We need to have better players in the bench to allow Mourinho to rotate more. Cornelius fits the bill just right CurlyHairLikeLuiz
