André Schürrle

It depends which way you look at it, his work rate was excellent, even on corners he wouldn't let his man go he was always tracking.

The service will be better to him in other games also, we where just generally sloppy for me, even though Mourinho played for a draw he certainly didn't expect us to be so sloppy up top like we where.

Only thing I haven't been so impressed with is his first touch, but besides that he's looking good. He's going to need games to get in it first, Schurrle is a player with discipline and a lot of confidence with his long range shooting and trying stuff from anywhere, he hasn't done any of that since joining because he's smart enough to know if he fucks up he loses his place. And with our 10000000000 cams he can certainly be benched.

To be honest, I wasn't sure about the Schurrle signing. I knew he had the tools to become a top-class player but I wasn't sure as to how he'd fit in at Chelsea and my perspective was bias because when I saw Schurrle, all I thought about was Marin.

Glad to be proven wrong. As some of the posters on this forum pointed out (The Skipper, Only place to be and yourself), he's just the perfect team player due to his impressive work-rate & motor.

To think that last season, we had Benayoun and Marin on the bench....now we have Schurrle and De Bruyne ready to start/come off the bench!

Don't forget the addition of willian, who many think will make a strong push into the starting line up.

Our squad is amazing.

I'm not going to lie, when I heard about signing him under AVB I wasn't sure, but then I watched some games he played in Germany and he looked impressive. Still slightly raw but impressive enough.

Whos saying this guy is a waste of money now?

He worked his fucking arse of today for the team, he was immense defensively and the little times he could contribute offensively, his run and the cut back for Torres' goal (although it took a wee nick) was brilliant, Hazard's run and pass was also excellent. Guy is a workhorse, and like Luiz, also has so much passion and positivity around him.

This. Some comments based on pre-season were stating that he is not going to fit in. Do not have anything against KDB but people judged out pre-season games to prove that KDB is going to be a much better fit than Schurlle because of this. He is a very good player, young and he has the physical and technical attributes to succeed here I am sure. The way judgments on players can switch on these forums sometimes are amazing.

Nice to see he is finally getting some praise, this is something that probably belongs in unpopular views but......

.....he will be starting more games than De Bruyne this term, and rightly so
