Popular Post! Henrique 9,133 Posted August 4, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted August 4, 2014 He has to be a starter. He had an amazing WC and with the addition of Fabregas he'll be deadly. Aside from Diego he's the player that can make the runs.I won't describe his WC as "amazing", and even if that was the case, what players are doing in international levels has nothing to do with their clubs. Schurrle is a very good player, but at the end of last season few people were saying "he has to be starter", suddenly, after 2 good WC games it seems he already won this place in the starting line-up next season. imo those claims that "x" or "y" must starters before the beginning of the season doesn't make any sense. RoyalBlues 4,050
He will start the season with much, much better psychologically and also much, much more confident. I think he has developed as a player and at the moment he is very, very good player and he will do well this season. Lol. I don't think Mourinho is going to allow him to just slot into the starting 11 too soon. Especially due to the lack of match fitness from pre-season

MrExcalibur100 7,124
The problem for Schurrle as far as being a starter goes is that he is just not as good on the right wing as he is on the left. He can't cut in and shoot as he loves to do on the left and he just doesn't look very comfortable there, be it running at players or trying to get his shot off .I'm not convinced as others he's better on the right than say a Willian or an Oscar. His best position is definitely the left wing and that's Hazard's position. He will still play a vital part in our season though, I'm sure of that but like Henrique said, let's not jump on the World Cup bandwagon. Germany is Germany, Chelsea is Chelsea. Pizy 18,909
He scored that nice goal against Le Arse cutting in from the right so we know he can do it. Doing it consistently will hopefully be the next step for him. Barbara
Popular Post! CHOULO19 24,332 Posted August 5, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted August 5, 2014 We'll trade you for Koké, Atletico. Why? We have players in the Koke mold while Andre is our best option for direct football. I certainly would not trade, even if Koke's market value is perceived to be higher. LDN Blue 7,903
It is a long season. Maybe we could even see this sometime: CostaSchürrle Hazard Willian Matic CescTbh it looks good for a pure 4-3-3 when you push Schurrle and Willian up and Hazard would have more space to roam around. It would be a good strategy for the last 10 mins of a game when it's a draw and we need a goal.. Tired opposition wouldn't have an answer Dion

Tired opposition wouldn't have an answerCertainly it would be wise to use it in the dying minutes of a game because a 4-3-3 like that could be very risky. Willian or Schürrle may help out Hazard or even the pivot in their defensive duties if they're closer to them in a 4-2-3-1. Deploying a very aggresive formation like what you suggest could pay dividends as a last resort though.
