CHOULO19 24,332
Firestone is a brand of Bridgestone group.Continental is 4th largest company in the world, while Yokohama is only 8th. Continental sales are 2x bigger than Yokohama.Maybe, but not in Lebanon. Never heard of them.

termninja 5,290
Difference being is Samsung was initially marketing it's phones. As it grew they had a lot more products other than phones and calling it Samsung Mobiles was a negative marketing strategy as they had so much more to offer. Yokohama doesn't and probably won't ever have that luxury. As it seems everyone is making mobile phones these days, Yokohama should create Yoko Phone, make its body of the same material they do for their tyres and they can roll the market!I would, because parents and moralists would boycott our games and drop our ad revenue, sales, popularity, etc...Yeah, but you can not discard the amount of porn stars that would follow us, I'm more interested in them then in parents and moralists *cough* *cough* *cough**cough* That's enough! Next thing you know, someone will say that Jordan Henderson is on it.
Henrique 9,133
Yokohama is "one of those" ones that you haven't heard of, but you have, if that makes sense - e.g. you've heard of them but they're not a massively marketed company. People have to realise that Samsung's first marketed phone release in the UK was the SGH-Z300 in February 2005. Around the same time our deal with Samsung was announced. Samsung took off in the UK at the same time that Chelsea did under Mourinho and Abramovich. The same will happen with Yokohama, it'll be a massively marketable company and instantly recognisable in a few years.I didn't know Samsung took off in UK in 2005, because back them they already were the world leading LCD company. Their TV's were really famous. I remember my first SAMSUNG TV was bought in the early 90s when the logo was still this one:I remember SAMSUNG was already famous back in 2005, don't know about UK, but I can really remember in Sydney 2000 Olympics they were an official sponsor. In 2005 samsung mobiles were relatively popular in USA. For me its a surprise that SAMSUNG was not popular in UK in 2005, because they were already huge, I dare say they were even more popular than Apple before iPhone, since only people involved with graphics and music production really cared about them. I think we can't really compare Samsung and Yokohama, since Yokohama is producing tyres, and the amount of money involved is not as big when we talk about tvs and mobile phones. To other side I have to admit Yokohama will be instantly recognizable in a few years. Not particularly in the UK. Sony and Panasonic have always been the biggest brands for electrical devices over here and I can't ever see that changing, in all honesty, though you could say Samsung have now joined them to make a "big three". But in 2005, I certainly hadn't heard of them. Henrique
