You do know that these clubs became big because of the results, not because of their kit suppliers, right?

Its not all black and white. Sure prestige plays big part, but if we win CL with lets say UA and dominate football like Barca, you think we will be any less respected because we would wear UA? Its the results that will make us popular or not, its the results that will make us ELITE not fucking kit supplier.

In ten years from now UA could be on par with adidas and nike and if we are the ones that will truly break through market for UA in european football, so be it. It could lead to great opportunity.

In a business sense you are very naive. Marketing/branding is everything, it's what sells, image is paramount.

10 years?, more like 100 years. Nike & Adidas defined cultures, they own european football.

Perhaps you lack vision.

American sports were dominated by nike and adidas, but UA is getting bigger role with each year there. Same can happen in europe. Dont forget how Nike became big. I remember how hollywood advertised nike products in all their movies, something that is happening with UA these past few years. How nba and american athletes signed contracts with nike. Today some biggest stars, like Curry are all contracted to UA as someone mentioned above. I remember when nike became super popular after Ronaldo9 and brasil wore their stuff in world cup. Money plays huge role and trust me, UA will be able to attract more and more famous stars and teams, gaining popularity.

Times change.

Now dont get me wrong, I would take Nike like I said in a heartbeat, because I dont like UA or new balance kits, but never underestimate the growth of company like UA.

Chelsea parted company with adidas after becoming fed up with United receiving most attention & two-and-a-half times as much money. [Mail]

Chelsea were increasingly annoyed by the way adidas have been concentrating on United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus. [Mail]

The Chelsea shirt deal was worth £30m a year, compared to United’s £75m contract. The Londoners will want at least £50m a year. [Mail]

Nike would be prepared to pay that, but they're close to agreeing a deal with Spurs when they could be sharing Wembley with Chelsea. [Mail]

The other possibilities are Japanese firm Uniqlo, to complement the £40m-a-year shirt deal with Yokohama, or Li Ning from China. [Mail]

No, they are not the real deal.. Adidas & Nike are immovable, they are part of the culture of european football. It's an impossible task, and it certainly won't play out like that for Chelsea.

"oh well, it's more money, that's all that matters'' - Marketing is more valuable than getting £20m extra on a contract, for the Chelsea brand to be with anyone other kit manufacturer other than Nike right now is the worst thing that can happen to the clubs image.

.....

Man-utd (biggest club in history) - Adidas

Real Madrid (biggest club ever) - Adidas

Barce-fucking-lona - Nike

Bayern-fuckng-Munich (kings of germany - Adidas

Juventus (only club in italy) - Adidas

Man-City - Nike

PSG - Nike

Lionel-fucking-Messi - Adidas

Ronal-fucking-do - Nike

Right now, Nike and Adidas are no doubt the top two brands, but Nike used to be a nothing brand in football. It wasn't until recently that they gained the prestige they have today. That was due to sponsorships of big players, big clubs, and the money to afford to be able to have revolutionary products.

UA has been doing this in the United States and potentially has the money to attempt this worldwide. You know those compression shirts that players are all of a sudden wearing under their kits? UA made that popular. It takes time for a brand to establish themselves, but if there's one brand that has a great chance at breaking this Nike/Adidas thing, it's UA.

I don't like their kits and hope we get Nike, but to assume that us signing with UA has the same impact as us signing with a company like Errea is completely false and completely stupid. UA have the money and they have the potential to break into the market.

Well... Let's be fair. There's no way how we would sell more shirts than Manutd... They are the biggest brand in the world and we all know it if we are honest.

You should think outside the box. Football is dynamic. PSG is selling more shirts than Juventus and Milan. United lacks a star name, they are not even playing in UCL final stages. You are underestimating the size of Chelsea ("we") as a football brand.

Wayne Rooney would disagree...

I am not underestimating Chelsea... But nobody can argue that Manutd and Real Madrid are way bigger brands than us. We are in top 3 or 4 tho.

Chelsea will probably be relegated next season due to the 'sponsorship curse of 16'. More evil and dastardly than the Cleveland Browns and Chicago Cubs put together. Prepare for a century of Championship football.

Everyone will forget the club exists and it's international fanbases will disappear over night.Yokohama Tyres will go bankrupt and Roman will lose his fortune in a game of black jack.
