The Skipper 20,609
HUGE mistake to play Luiz in midfield today. Basel press exceptionally well. And with Lampard starting, we've already lost the midfield battle.I'm not really a fan of Luiz in midfield either but think Ramires will tuck in and help the midfield, forming a midfield 3, with Eden going wide. I don't really know much about Basel but it's a strange selection so there must be a reason Rafa's playing Luiz in midfield. We'll see anyway. We'll see anyway. The reason I'm saying this is because, from what I saw from Basel in the EL, they press very very well in midfield and they do so not with one or two players but with four and more and Luiz is not used to have the ball in his feet while under such pressure. I can see him know trying to dribble out of trouble and getting dispossessed
Leif 6,006
Surely it's a midfield double of Ramires - Luiz with Lampard behind Torres with Hazard and Moses out wide? We did similar vs. Kazan did we not?

Lampard isn't that good under pressure either so you're right, we might get run over in midfield. It'll be an interesting match up regardless. Magic Lamps 11,692
I think in fact it is a rather the good old 4-3-3 with ----Luiz----Rami--Lampsstrong enough, IMO

We'll have to defend well and make the best of the counters because I fear we've already lost the midfield battle.

Mustafa 885
Saw the line up and as much as I think its a good away from home line-up I felt bad for a certain little German... Poor Marko, you can count his starts this season on one hand. I was sure he would start tonight... But nevertheless I reckon we'll score a crucial away goal tonight

Bir_CFC 3,455
Is it a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3? We played 4-3-3 last Europa so it might be a 4-3-3, if so, I'm happy. Hopefully Lamps can get a couple

Ollie 4,400
Underestimating Basel is exactly what Spurs did in both legs, and look what happened to them. The arrogance of some Chelsea fans astounds me. Show some fucking respect. Considering we were 6th last season and will probably get 5th this season, not even competing for the title for 3 years, i'm surprised anyone can be arrogant/over confident. We've drawn against Brentford this season ffs 7 minutes from losing. I'll be happy with a draw today.
