Fernando Torres

I understand the 18.5mil £ being saved next year but simply don't get the 1-2mil £ we save this year.

I mean torres costs us 18.5mil £ everu year for his wages and fee.

His transfee fee that is still left for 2 years is 18.2mil.

So if we get 10mil £ from milan and give 6mil £ to torres as compensation, he would cost us 14.2 mil £ this season. So we either "save" 4.3 mil £ on him this season or lose 14.2mil £. Don't get 1-2mil £ saved thing.

£18.2m - £10m = £8.2m on transfer fee left.

Wages = £10m -> £6m of that being discarded as compensation so we save £4m there.

So subtracting that £4m from £8.2m it seems like neither is the case and we're rather just losing £4.2m for this year.

I'm very sleepy so this might be completely wrong :P.

Rob Beasley is pretty good with Chelsea info and his article made out Torres deal is on the brink of being done

Interesting how he says it's going to be a permanent move but all the other tabloids like the Telegraph, Mail and Guardian (as well as the journalists on twitter) seem to think it's only a loan. I guess we'll get to see how in-the-know Rob really is.

You're forgetting that Torres has been here for two months of the season, with July 1st being the turning point. In that time he has already been paid around £1.6m in wages so it will have to be considered there.

Now, if he does go the rest of his transfer fee's £18.2m amortisation will become due and considering the £1.6m wages already paid to him the total figure left should be somewhere around the £19.8 million mark. If Milan are paying £10m with the club only ever seeing £4m of that money and the rest going straight to Torres' bank account, he would then have approximately £15.8m left on the books and therefore around £2.7m saved when compared to the £18.5m he would cost if he stayed. There may also be some payments to Torres' agent or something so the guys analyzing these figures will always use a low estimate to be on the safe side, therefore to say £1-2m saved could be pretty accurate.

Not much would change this year but next season's £18.5m saving would be HUGE.

Fernando wants to play with continuity, but he doesnt stomach a loan move. Hes open to joining Milan, but at his conditions: thats what he restated to Galliani on the phone and his agents will confirm it today, trying to study a strategy to obtain a severance pay from Marina (Abramovich closest collaborator) in order to ease the deal. Chelsea seem willing to give it, maybe considering this favor an advance for the future.

Costa's minor muscular injury shouldn't be used as a excuse to keep him here. He is essentially out for 1 game only and we'll be saving millions if Torres fucks off.

Roma won't refuse a 20m bid for Destro and we could wrap it up before the window closes. Everyone's gonna be happy.
