Fernando Torres

This tournament told us what we already know. Against rubbish pub teams like Tahiti he will score, but against any decent side he is a liability at worst and a passenger at best. He is rubbish. If we somehow get rid this summer it will be a miracle.

LOL! Think we all could easily write up 30 reasons as to why we shouldn't keep Torres.

1) He is in the best form of his Chelsea career

Torres has had a tough time at Stamford Bridge, of that there can be no doubt. There were flashes of his best form, but they were few and far between.

In the last few months though, there has been a new confidence to his game and some consistency in his performances, both in terms of scoring himself and setting up team-mates.

He has scored eight goals in his last 20 Chelsea appearances, a good record considering he was not always starting.

Torres has continued this form for Spain in the Confederations Cup too, with five goals in the group stages. After investing so much in the striker, do Chelsea really want to sell him on the back of his best run since joining?

What nonsense! He is only considered 'in form' because of the goals scored in the Europa League and Confederations Cup against 3rd/4th tier level oppositions. Apart from that, his performances in other aspects have been woeful. People said he has been scoring goals at the back of last season but yet conveniently forgot he went 4 1/2 months without scoring a goal against better quality teams in the Premier League. To keep him because he's supposedly in the best form of his career here would be absolute tragic. It's hardly even 'best form' and for the level we're playing it, that's not good enough!

2) He is a born winner

Say what you like about Torres, he knows how to win a trophy. Yes, he has been blessed by being part of such a strong Spain team, but he has more than contributed to their European and World Cup success.

Then for Chelsea, Torres has scored some crucial goals on the way to major silverware. He scored five Europa League goals last season, including the opener against Benfica in the final.

Torres was also influential in Chelsea's victorious Champions League campaign of 2012, scoring the decisive equaliser against Barcelona in a tense semi-final.

Give Torres a stage to shine - the bigger the better - and he WILL take it. You can never rule out the former Liverpool man stepping up to score a crucial goal.

With Chelsea fighting for all major honours, this is a handy attribute to have.

3) He is committed to the Chelsea cause

Fernando Torres really, really wants to succeed at Chelsea. He doesn't want to run away from what has at times been a difficult situation - he wants to stay and fight for his place.

Speaking after Jose Mourinho's appointment, he said: "I have the added pressure of Mourinho and that's a challenge for any player. Chelsea is the club I'm at and where I want to be, I want to keep winning trophies there.

So, Chelsea have an in-form, committed striker that tends to score important goals on the big occasion.

Those 2 reasons are a joke and very superficial. We can easily get another player who has a winning mentality, a strong character including that is committed and not some weak pussy like Torres that will contribute so much more than what Torres will give to us. And committed to the cause? All he does is start the season decent enough, goes missing mid-way and then suddenly turning up in the back end of the season. Not to mention, he then goes to the media and start talking trash about how he wants to stay, see out his contract, repay the fans' faith in him bla bla bla but yet, hardly prove his words and perform consistently on the pitch.

Cringeworthy all around, that article and what Torres does.

Whoever wrote that 3 reasons to keep Torres should have their knob cut off and glued to their forehead to demonstrate that they really are dickheads. I could think of at least 50 reasons why Torres should leave (whey hey one for every million unlike that fucker and his goals) and they are all based around the fact that he is shit and is costing us a shitload of money. In fact if I had the dedication I'd write a list of all the reasons why we should get rid of him.

'Torres is a born winner' is he fuck.

He won fuck all at Liverpool and I doubt he won anything with Atletico. He won the Euros with Spain in 08 and 12 as well as the 2010 WC but hes won a Champions League, Europa League and FA cup with Chelsea. He didn't contribute majorly to any of the trophies hes won here, ok maybe an exception for the Europa League but still, saying hes a born winner because hes been part of a winning club side since 2011 where he did basically next to nothing is ridiculous.

No surprise that an article as stupid as that was written by someone called Rooney.

To build on what @, @, have said about this ridiculous article:

We might as well have kept Bosingwa since Bosingwa has more Champions League Trophies than Ronaldo i.e he's a born winner! So if this guy was a manager he would have kept Bosingwa over Ronaldo.

I say hang him up as bait to all the rich teams around Europe. Try and take any deal upwards of 10mil

Not even AS Monaco would be stupid enough to buy him. Why don't we just release him!

He won love! :Goober:

Hope this is true

Abramovich is on board with Mourinho's intention to sell Torres after 2 1/2 campaigns under four different coaches (via @DuncanCastles) #CFC

That DuncanCastles guy is starting to stink, not because that information but for all, he has given all the important information within the last 10 hours. I don't really believe it a bit.

Fernando will be the new Paulo Ferreira guys, forget about he leaving.

The thing with Torres that gives hope is he is not one to choose money over football. He won't do a Winston Bogarde, no way.

He left his boyhood club to sign for Liverpool, taking a pay-cut in the process.

He also (someone said on this forum couple of years bacK) turned down going to Man.City for wages even higher than what he is on here.

He will want to go to next summer's world cup and im pretty sure he will leave if there is any danger of that not happening.
