Mourinho may want him to stay but he also may not prevent him leaving if a bid comes in. He knows he is past it, if he joins Roma/Milan he would end up being a sub there as well after they figure out how useless he is. He has "won" every single trophy at club level other than the EPL Title, he might think he will make enough appearances to pick that up as well.
