ruggedknot 105
Was in denial for the longest time . Now I can't fathom it , still hasn't sunk in . This is a monumental signing . Big props to the board , Gourlay and of course our passionate sugar-daddy Roman . The man just shifted two gears here with the club.
HRiver 1,512
Finally we've bought a top class player, after 2006's signings of Shevchenko, Ballack, Cole and co.

The Big Drog 1,110
In his interview with Chelsea TV he said all of the right things and just how special is it to see him holding the Chelsea jersey in front of that Chelsea background? Easily the biggest signing in the clubs history, a monumentous day for Chelsea and a great day for the fans, I couldn't be happier than I am right now.Ps: Any chance of getting that pic of Torres with the Chelsea jersey made into sig size so it can fit 500 pixels wide? Also anyone any ideas on the lyrics we are going to use to the Fernando Torres song?

ruggedknot 105
" Drogba is the best striker in the world " . Talk about being humble , to say that as a competitive sportsman, its something else . Despite all the rivalry we've had with Pool and him being a constant thorn like Tevez is for us , it was so easy to see that he was really pleased to be here , making the move to a bigger club , the kind of move every player wants in his own words . For the longest time this signing didn't seem likely , for various reasons including thinking that our big spending days are long gone . I'll be the first to admit that as any fan of football , its easy to see the quality of player he is , clearly on another level when he's on song . Never thought this was going to happen , was clearly enjoying the meltdown in RAWK and that's all I thought it would amount to . Was a fantastic day for Chelsea Football Club , a world-class CF and an up and coming defender whom Jose himself was at one point chasing . Torres has already endeared himself , that face and modesty will probably recuperate all that dough by selling shirts and merchandise , all over the world . Club profile compounded , stating our intent in getting the best talent in the world and an owner that's as committed as ever . Fantastic stuff . True_Blue 469
We spent 70+ million on two players in January, tomorrow we are all going to die.On the serious note,David was a proper signing he is 23 and expirienced he will do well on the long term. But Torres...50mill is it? that is a bit too much for a player that just fucks off when things go bad,not really keen on the move. He has been for liverpool in 3 years dude, I would say that is giving it a fair chance. I have no doubt that both Terry and Lampard would want to leave if we just kept buying shit players like Poulsen and Konchesky and on top of that gets managers like Hodgson and king kenny. Fair play by him I say, wouldn't be mad if he had done the same here after being promised better times for year in and year out.
