But if he does mean it, it's a poor show of mentality Well if we played Besiktas now then Barca was on the road ahead. Does n't make sense to grumble really. Top 4 is a must of course, while to win the CL we have 3 or 4 more giants as probable opponents (as well as Roma again maybe !).

Mourinho went into those games way too conservative. If I remember rightly, we sat back too much and invited the pressure. That is what I hate about that style of play, you have nothing on the offense. I hope Conte goes into the next round with a more offensive strategy. I believe Conte has that in him more than Jose does.

Jase 43,479
Can someone please tell me how are Juventus considered a good draw for Spurs? Have read some analysis across various sites and somehow, Juventus, who have won 6 straight Serie A titles and reached 2 Champions League finals in last 3 years, have been dismissed like they're Newcastle! One journalist even deemed them sitting 3rd in the table as unthinkable, despite being just 2 points off the top! Why are people even reading so much into Spurs' wins over Real and Dortmund, who have been nothing short of disaster this season? Also unsurprisingly, many seem to have written us off against Barcelona. They are, rightly, the favorites but if Conte is looking at how to get the players pumped up for the tie, he could do no worse than stick up the predictions from the journalists/pundits in the dressing room. Strike and DYC.

Milan 17,957
Messi back in 2006 - Quote "There are players here who hate Chelsea more than Real Madrid," Messi told the News of the World, per Sky Sports. "I never thought I would hear myself say that. "I also never thought I would see something worse than the Boca and River Plate rivalry or Brazil v Argentina - but this is. "We would rather play Arsenal, Manchester United or anyone else than be on the pitch with Chelsea." I don't think much has changed since then. We can certainly cause yet another upset for them. They never liked playing us.

We got a gift from the ref in the formation of undeserved red for Ibra early in the game. It should have been an easy game yet if I am not wrong we were dominated by 10 man team. I dont anything will change with players and fans alike specially the ones who are still associated directly/indirectly with that dreadful night at the Bridge ... Barca were exposed as one of the biggest cheats around so it is obvious that they dont like us and we dont like them. I still curse them when I remember about that game and I know quite a few who still have that scar which is something which will go till the end. cosmicway 1,333
Spurs have no chance against Juve. Is it predrawn now to the end ? If it is n't are the teams from the same country to be seeded again for the stage of 8 ?
Strike 7,489
Agree with the sentiment here. Bring em' on. Its been a few years since there was a classic Champions League night at the Bridge. After the 2012 run, I think only the win against PSG where Ba nicked a winner came close. It feels good to have these big games back on the fixture list. It's certainly not a very good draw, but I'll still favour Spurs over Juventus, not on current form of course. But Spurs will hit back, they have a young and talented squad, and of course maybe their performances shouldn't mean anything given the form of Real and Dortmund but even Juventus were nothing great in the Champions League, Barca managed to contain them in both the legs

It's always about qualifying for the last 16 when you're in the group. Juventus in 2014/15, for example, came second in their group behind Atletico Madrid and still managed to reach the final, beating Dortmund, Monaco and Real Madrid along the way. Juve also did something similar last season. So they do have a track record of turning it on in the knockout stage.
cfcs most wanted 657
Seeing all these high pressing exciting games in the champions league, and then watching our match against Man City, why to be always this protective, just have a go sometime
manpe 10,861
How do these teams keep possession so well even in most difficult situations? I don't get it, if it was us Courtois would have lumped 10 long balls by now because we can't stand any kind of pressure.
Styles 9,790
Yeah, it's depressing watching other teams play well when we have to suffer through shit on a stick football.
