I'm sorry but we need to rest players.

It's okay, it's not your fault..

Lukaku can't play in this one as far as I know which means we'll be facing Long and Odemwingie. The question is what CB pairing should we use. I'd choose Iva-Cahil. Fast and disciplined.

Anyone else think Steve Clatke has done a fantastic job at West Brom? Think he is going to be a hell of a manager. His teams are always well organized and difficult to beat, guy deserves a pat on the back.

Unfortunately for him I see us nicking a win 2-1 to Chelsea with Sturridge starting instead if Torres. And maybe Marin and Moses getting some starts.

Clarke's always been known as a defensive specialist in terms of coaching and from what i've heard, he's got a very high footballing IQ. He was part of the reason why we were able to grind out 1-0 results under Mourinho, then he went to Liverpool, helped them defensively and now he finally gets the chance to manage his own club.

Hopefully we beat WBA. It'll be a tricky game.

I think this november/december slump we have recently is because of tiredness. The way to fix this is to rotate the players like ferguson. By playing pple on form(moses) and giving others enough substitute time to make an impact(sturridge, marin)

We have to adopt the system that ferguson uses to avoid long bad spells like we are havin now.

I remember when ferguson dropped rooney earlier this season, bcos he was playing badly and now he has fit into the team.

He is now bringing on hernandez and his time on the bench has spured him to play better.

Our usual november slumps is due to tiredness, we need to rotate now more than ever.

im not to convince by our team right know, we will lose this one 2-1 with brom getting late winner! im sorry for the negative but west brom are quality if we cnt beat liverpool or swansea then brom will be hell.

Going by that logic, we should just wave the white flag then. Why bother wasting our energy against West Brom? And against United and City...

Oscar, luiz, ramires, mikel, moses, are all playing in the early hours of thursday what are the chances they will have recovered before the game on saturday especially if they will feature against juve on tuesday next week. Luiz might be ok since he did not play vs liverpool.

--------Cech-------

Azpi--------iva-------cahill---------bert

--------Luiz----------------Romeu-----------

Mata(sturridge)-----marin------Hazard(mata)

-------------------Torres---------

Considering Mikel and Moses have both pulled out of the squad for this weeks fixture, they will have ample time to "recover".

I don't think that we need to bring in Moses, Marin AND studge - I think thats too much of a change for what people might be under estimating the task ahead.. West Brom are a solid team this season and led by a man with some tactical sense!

I think Moses and Studge in then introduce Marin @ 50-60mins

5 out of 6 can also be a coincidence. It is only West Brom so an absolute must-win, if we want to maintain 3rd spot at least. Will probably be too early for Lamps but he also played well in the last fixture against Juve, so he could return then at least as a sub.

My forma this game:

Azpi-Cahill-Iva-Bert

---Romeu-Mikel----

Moses---Mata---Marin

---------Studge-------

Marin should definitely be used as a sub. I can't see him going from absolutely no game time to starting so being used as a sub seems about right. He looked decent in the pre-season so he's got to start being used. It's important for RDM to start putting some faith in squad rotation at this point.

There used to be days many years ago where I'd look at this fixture and think 'God, I hope they go easy on us'. Thankfully, those days are long gone , mainly due to the work of Roy Hodgson and the extra charaisma brought to the side by Steve Clarke. We're good enough to compete with any side in this division and I expect Saturday to be no different, granted, you have the quality to take the game away from us, but you're in for a tricky ride. The fact you have a busy schedule favours us slightly as RDM will be in two minds whether to rotate his squad but if you do, it will only work to our advantage in my opinion.

I've seen bits of Chelsea this season and they've looked very open, something we suffered with under RDM. At Chelsea he'll get away with having the likes of Hazard, Mata and Oscar who are quite superb footballers. At our place, we had good footballers but not those of the highest quality like the ones he currently has and therefore when we entered the slump, he was unable to change his ways, organise us defensively and hence he got the sack. Our counter attacking is up there with the best in the division, we break with pace and precision and on our day we could have a couple. Ask the dingles how good our counter attacking is. They found it in full force.

Saturday will be a tough game and one I'm looking forward to immensley. It'll be a test to see how far we've come. I expect us to lose (as always) but I do feel we have enough about us to get a point. Steve Clarke will probably be reserved in his team selection and go something like this:

Foster

Jones McAuley Olsson Ridgewell

Mulumbu Yacob

Gera Morrison Dorrans

Long

We've played some very good stuff under Steve Clarke so far. Very organised defensively and with the intentions of getting the ball down going forward. Shane Long and James Morrison have been superb for us so far this season, as have Youssouf Mulumbu and Claudio Yacob who have formed a very effective partnership and one which has certainly enhanced the solidity of our side.
