  1. 1. Who Is Your Man Of The Match?

Recommended Posts

This match was at least good as a reality check so we all can see that our team is still a work in progress and not a title contender one. :halo:

Yeah but all teams are a work in progress. Man citys defence is pretty bad tbh, and man u's is far from convincing. In fact i take our best back 5 over theirs all day. Yes it is their strikeforce that has recently proved the difference, but we have as much quality as them just not enough in a crucial area. I am not saying we are going to win the league but it is still definitely a 3 horse race... We are underdogs but we are in it.

We need Busquets and Falcao and maybe Bony (being persuaded on his thread)

I know that's bet part of 100 million, but we need it lol :)

Sell Torrid and Studge for around 30 mill - not bad business :)

Yeah i think thats getting a bit extreme... I honestly think we can dramatically improve this team with 15/20 mil. Get a cheap proven finisher, another cb to provide some cover...

Obviously i would rather have falcoa than any other striker, but its just that we don't have to spend a shit load to make an improvement if we don't want to.

WAY too much negativity here after a disappointing match!! I think getting off to such a strong start let some supporters get their expectations way out of whack. Top-4 was always a realistic goal for this season and still is, RDM made the right substitutions, not really much else he could do. Our problems are the same problems we've been having all season-inability to create chances. We are actually, I believe, one of the best teams at putting away our opportunities once we get them, we just aren't creating enough chances. We also are in between styles. We're not really a counter-attacking team and we're not really a possession team.

Out of our attacking three midfielders today, only Hazard played well. Our pivot was OK, but that's the best it ever really is. It's hard to play fluidly when your central midfield can't create. Our defence played well generally. Not sure why people are getting on Torres after this game. Is he supposed to get the ball at midfield and go past 4 defenders and score? Yes, he's been generally bad for us in the almost two years he's been with Chelsea, but not every instance of dropped points is down to Torres.

Last nights game was totally different to that. We created chances, just weren't clinical in the finishing (on top of some great goal keeping). Mata, Oscar and Torres pretty much had a goal in the bag. Should of at least been 3-0 up at half time.

But I understand where your coming from. Its the piss around the top of the box mentality that frustrates me. Just put the damn ball in the 18 yard box.

Also, when a DOES cross comes in, there are piss all Blue shirts in the box to tap it in. There only seems to be one or two Chelsea players around that 6 yard box, the rest of the attackers seem to be sitting around the D. We just need bodies in the box

Liverpool were terrible right up until their goal, which swung the momentum and naturally they finished stronger because of the buzz but the first 70 minutes they were utterly terrible, worst away display at The Bridge since Stoke 7-0.

They are a very average side and the fans seem to be optimistic about Rodgers long term but to me they seem to be taking alleyways full of dead ends.

Overall 3 points lost due to poor finishing really. Oscar and especially Mata had great chances. Also the fact we didn't play at our best again, shows we are a bit tired. Rest some players against West Brom. Tough game or not, at this rate our key players will be completly burnt out by the final third of the season.

And that brings me back to the point of RDM making late substitutions again. He really should start trying to make changes earlier in games rather than wait till after the 70th minute mark to make one. He can't expect our subs to be a superhero and make a big game with only 15-20 minutes of game time on the pitch! He always seem to wait till we concede or go behind before making those changes!

It's just worrying how we just let that game slip instead of really going for that 2-0+

Think we did try to go for the killer but our final passes and shots were rather disappointing. It lacked any sort of real quality and we paid the price for it.

any one know whether we are marking zone in set pieces? It just seemed odd to me having Ramires marking Suarez... Typically, a defender would stick to him and Ramires would mark a midfielder, and strikers the defenders, etc. So, even if we are zone marking set pieces, Ramires should not have been marking the striker. Just wondering how much of a mistake it was...

Yes but it doesn't always work that way and Suarez is hardly a big threat from set pieces. Don't see much wrong with Ramires marking him. Had Ramires defended better, we wouldn't be talking the goal we conceded.

You guys are overreacting. Despite the fact that Liverpool is shit but they are no slouch when they are up against big teams. Citeh drew them, ManScum just managed to win controversially.

The problem of our squad is obvious, lacks of depth and experience. No one on the bench is game changer like that little cunt Shitcharito or Dzeko. If we can get decent forwards and midfielders we still have the chance to win the title.

Those say RDM is ordered to play Torres are delusional. Seriously, if RDM thinks Sturridge is better for the team he is still willing to jeopardise his job and insist to play Torres?! Roman is too smart to make that order as well, Chelsea is his ultimate toy afterall not Torres.

P.s. I'm not Torres fanboy, he is clearly not good enough and I'll open my arms to welcome Falcao to replace him, but he shouldn't be the scapegoat for every freaking draw or lost. The hatreds towards him in this forum are biased and extreme sometimes.

In january, please buy Benatia and Falcao/Cavani. Maybe loan some CM since Mikels gone in january.

Do you even think before you speak? Mikel has been our most vital player in the midfield, he has been nothing short of phenomenal in his transformation under RDM.

Could ask you the same question ese. He meant for AFCON, anyone here when mentioning Mikel being gone will mostly mean the AFCON.

wtf ? why is always oscar coming off? why don't you take hopeless hazard out ffs!

ffs edit!

don;t get me started on sturridge, his far worst then torres, our team is shit without drogba and we all know, we need somebody in that midfield to be the who wastes time when is time just shutup shop!

one other thing, hazard needs to step his game up! we ran out of hate comments for torres, he knows his shit.

Ridiculous comments. Oscar had a poor game. He didn't create any chances, his passing was off and he spoiled his chance. RDM had every right taking him off. Hazard wasn't great but atleast he created chances and wasn't wastefull in possesion.

Spot on, he is constantly making substitutions after we have already given up the initiative and the lead over to the opposition.

THIS IS NOT TRUE. vs arsenl vs swans. vs spurs vs norwich and many other games. I hate wen pple over react. The team played well but we couldn't score. We need a prolific striker. Midfielders and defenders can't always rescue us. RDM is doing the best that can be done with this transitional squad in time they will get better. Remember we played well without lamps terry and cole our most experienced players. For me that is positive all we need is a prolific striker and we all know but for the cost we might have bought falcao or cavanni in the summer.

Hazard was not a waste. He played a good game and created chances as well. It's Torres who sucked! I don't get it, what the fuck is wrong with this man. He stays in his position but doesn't receives any of the passes or crosses. O.o

Oscar didn't play poor he was just sloppy at times. That's it. But I still feel Moses could've come a little earlier as well as Sturridge.

I have never been so confident about a 2nd half result in years...the moment Mata missed that chance I just knew that Liverpool would score and we'd end up with a draw...

We should have bought Berbatov...
