Well, this will be our first 'competitive' game(according to many). Really need to start well and get a win here. Already lost 4 games in a row and we have two tricky/tough/awkward home games against Reading and Newcastle to come. Getting 3 points here is a must!

As I said, easy to say that. Just because it worked well for them doesn't mean it will for us. Need the right players, understanding and hard work to be able to fully implement that system.

This is not a game for us to be experimenting with 3 defenders.Its the first game of the season and we should win this by a convincing manner so that the players can feel more confident.

Yep, I wrote about it in the 'future chelsea team' thread, have a look. We certainly have the defenders for it, also Ramires and Cole / Bertrand as the wing-backs sounds tempting at least on paper. Only problem could be the central midfield but tbh that's a problem for us, no matter what formation we use.

I don't want to be rude here but to think that Oscar will start instead without even playing a single game for us so far is kind of really stupid.Also why spend 30m for Cavani when we can easily use the services of Danny for a 3 5 2.Trying really hard to know counter with a cliche but mate,this isn't FIFA.

The point is at one point in the season we will probably need a change of formation and that is one option.

Wow...some of you are out of your minds with these lineups.

Did you all forget Bertrand is perfectly capable of playing RB as well? He played RB very well for Team GB. Start him there.

No way Oscar starts. He has a friendly with Brazil Wednesday so he will only have been with the team for 2 days. Doubt he'll even be a sub in that short amount of time..

Even if we signed Azpillicueta this week there's no way he would start on Sunday already. Some of you are crazy.

yeah but in frst half we really held them. i mean lets realize that man city had 7 defenders (includin goalie) in the first team! we had nice counters and on a good day hazard makes the right choices (good game from him soo happy to hear man city boos for him) and we win the game. but we have to stop the long balls,i saw like 5 or 6 today! torres no way gona get them we need to make simple short easy passes and work way up-field. also, we need rambo in the middle of the park, that goal today showed he can appear in right spot at right time and he has good tricks inside that mind aswell. always pulls the goods whenever vs man city.

Loose this and will be worried!!! Either tends to be a easy game high score game or a bloody nightmare! And last time we played them opening day jesus christ how we managed it.Defence need to get it together and no silly bookings for anyone...and no injuries Weds make it even better!
