except for the last game of the season and another against elche, he played every game of the season.
dude, please, please stop embarassing yourself. go to an ATM forum or any spanish team forum and just say "arda is a bench player for ATM" and see what they do to you. cant even believe it.

I never said he didnt play games, you stop embrassing yourself, I said he does not start as often as you put it out, he makes appearances yes, but after every 4 games he goes he usually goes back to being a bench player, there is a clear difference between playing and not starting games.

You are the one whose clueless, even soccer journalists who have more knowledge than you agree to the fact that Turan's output is shit to be precise. Quote from a recent article on ESPN : Despite the fact that the Turk's attacking instincts and ability to carry the ball cannot be doubted, his end product is actually not all that impressive in real terms. His goalscoring return is paltry, notching just 13 in 127 La Liga appearances during four seasons with the club, while he has only directly assisted 18 league goals over that same period.

was this what you were talking about? i thought you were talking about turan being a bench warmer... hahahahah

http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/14112-8-oscar/?p=1113351

read this..

"as for turan not being better.. thats just LOL talk. turan's close control, holding on to the ball is light years ahead of oscar. turan's passing and dribbling is also way better. oscar has better goal scoring, and pace than turan, thats it!!!"

this is what i wrote... hmmm.. interesting.. very clueless.. dude.. again.. stop embarassing yoursef.. i thought you would have been maxed out byy saying"i would never return to this forum if chelsea win today", yet you do.. now leave it.

Actually, I think you're wrong mate. He's only started 5x from the bench and most of his substitutions happened between 80-90mins.. Also the frequency of these substitutions suggests rotation/rest because they're all over different periods of time.. In other words, he's not consistently substituted off.

I never said he didnt play games, you stop embrassing yourself, I said he does not start as often as you put it out, he makes appearances yes, but after every 4 games he goes he usually goes back to being a bench player, there is a clear difference between playing and not starting games.

is this guy's opinion valid or is he as clueless as me?

maybe we are all clueless!!!

Statistics are always interpreted in different ways, that's why 9 times out of 10 (lol, the irony) statistics makes for a weak argument. Player debates should be on merits of ability, impact, what they bring to the team etc.

Different players thrive in different formations, tactics & philosophies.

:clap::clap: perfectly put.

and thats one of the reasons why i think turan would be very good for us. has all the right ingredients to be a jose winger. physically strong, insanely hard worker (believe me, covering for juanfran is as bad is not worse than covering for iva), he definitely has the fight in him, and has already thrived in the same or similar role in atm which he would get at chelsea. his final product is a worry. but so is willian's. willian might not have got goals/assists but still was one of our best players for 5 months. for eg - the newcastle game (maybe not the best example but right out of the top of my head). the quick corner, assist to iva, goal to oscar, but willian had a massive massve part to play. and i would have no doubt if that was the case for a lot of our games and goals. turan is a player in the simialr mold. 29mil is a massive price tag. something like luis+5/10 would be very good for me.

You know what, lets agree to disagree no need to raise our testosterone on a silly issue like this

I wonder though, if Oscar was sold would you be content with Arda coming into the squad? Say for example, as some members hope for, that Willian is placed in the middle and Arda out wide?

Lol I don't understand really why everyone talks about the goal scoring abilities of Arda & Sterling, that it goes against them. They're not strikers lol, we have Costa et al to score our goals. Players like Arda, Raheem and any other wide/attacking midfield based players are there to help the team score these goals. As with Willian, brings a tremendous work ethic and has a brilliant change of pace. All of those helped us win the title, not all XI have to score 20+ goals a season for them to be considered one of the greats. Hell even Chelsea ability.

you sir, have literally said, everything i wanted to say in a manner which is not offensive!!! thank you.. now i am just going to copy paste this most of the times people bring goals.

Im not saying Arda is a bad player or anything I would welcome his at Chelsea if we sign him. I just think he will not be a massive upgrade on Oscar as some people think, if his brought in as squad player without sacrificing Oscar even better because more depth

How does one measure potential. what criteria is being used here. If it's talent, it's general consensus that oscar doesn't particularly excel at anything in particular, a jack of all trade if you will and if the criteria is based on how good he is for his age compared to other players, he's one of the most inconsistent players around so He's neither one of the most talented players nor one of the most consistent in his age group, He hasn't shown any sign of growth and improvement and he isn't a great athlete either so what is this potential based on exactly?.

General Consensus? :carlo2:

Who is this general consensus you talking about? football scouts? managers? analysts? fans?
