this is a done deal. he swapped shirts with sturridge and shook his hand and his post match interview almost confirmed it. i've not seen incidents where you have a medical and then decide against a team, especially when the team is the european champions. that's crazy.

Stop it, you sound like a RAWKite harping on about Gylfi Sigurdsson!

I am sorry :(

Read somewhere that Oscar thinks his place in the Brazilian national team could be in jeopardy if he goes to Chelsea and doesn't play as often. Yet again I read that on twitter so fuck knows if its true or not. Sounds like it could be though because well look back a year ago Ganso was their number 10, had bad form and lost his place to Oscar.

I missed tonight's warm up game between GB and Brazil. Could someone tell me how Oscar got on and if there is any highlights i could watch to catch up !?

Oscar was at the helm of the Brazil attack, definitely evident once he got subbed off they had little shape/organisation when they went forward. His crosses and passes were pure class, he has certainly earned his place as their #10. Kind of a pit that the two goals were a bit weak (Sandro had a lucky chip, Neymar converted a penalty after a complete and utter dive <_< )

Hi im new here! From Indonesia :-)

@ChelseaUnite on twitter

From EAC: Menezes on Oscar: "Chelsea's fans can expect a very intelligent player. He is somebody that is able to read the game and solve any problems that arise for his team.He does not rush and dribble with the ball at this feet but he finds good things to do with the ball.Put it this way, we wears the No 10 for Brazil and we don't give that shirt out to just anybody."

I think Menezes has said all that needs to be said. He wears the number 10 shirt for Brazil and that's not given away lightly. I can see him being a huge success here, but will he play centre midfield? Or will he play in the attacking midfielder position, forcing Hazard to right wing and Ramires to the bench?

He will be Lampard's successor in the future for sure, but at the moment while Lampsy is still fit enough to start, Oscar's versitility guarantees he will have enough play time.

If we don't sign a proper RW, he can play there. If we put Marin/Hazard/Ramires at the RW, he can rotate with Mata or Lampsy. When we play against offensively weaker teams, he can even play along with Lampsy as double pivots.

In short, he is versitile enough to play at every positions in the midfield before he replaces Lampsy for good.

Based on what I saw last night (unfortunately this is my only reference to his game, I don't watch much Brazilian football) - He is someone that we were crying out for last year, a player that keeps the play ticking over. He seems very tidy/efficient with the ball when deep, but also looks like he could be more dangerous in a more advanced position (he only had one shot however). For a slight 20 year old, he also seems very combative and willing to help out with the midfield battle. Brazil's 4-4-3 system suited him very well I must say.

He wasn't the star of the show last night by any means, but he did his job and he did it well.

It just pisses me off that we cant just confirm the deal it scares me :D he is exactly what we need and is only 20 years old! When are the olympics finished? He and azpi both want to concentrate on the game but i still hope they will decide before they are over. I can see both brazil and spain going into the finals so we might have to wait a while!
