I'm honestly shocked that people are questioning Oscar's abilities to perform at high level. Why is he selected for the Selecao? Because of his grande reputation? He isn't Kaká or Ronaldinho he can't be selected for his repuation, the only leg he has to stand on his skill.

I completely disagree, but each one to their own. Apparently even being a starting CB for Brazil isn't good enough for our first team. I know people will never look beyond Luiz mistakes and always tend to over exaggerate them so yeah like I said, each one to their own.

There a good chance he loses he's starting role in Brazil with the emergence of Dante.....

Starting for Brazil means nothing. Brazil's national team has been terrible for years now. Luiz is a decent CB but his rash decisions make him a liability at the back. He has been caught out many times this season. He is not consistently reliable. Thats a fact.

Top players can make 'mistakes', yes.. but we've had long enough to realise that's just his intrinsically erratic playing style.

Mats Hummels needs to be the marquee summer signing, make Dortmund an offer they can't refuse, Chalobah/Ake can look to replace Terry long term.

I agree that we might need another top class CB soon, but I don't think that is to replace Luiz, rather to replace Terry. Chalobah right now is being moulded into a DM, same can be said for Ake. I don't think their long term future is at CB IMO.

Still to this day, the CB pairing of Luiz and Terry at the start of the season has been the best by far. We haven't really had another chance to consistently see this partnership grow because of injuries mainly, so I think it's unfair to say we've had a long enough look at Luiz at CB. People forget that he's only 25 so as a CB he still has time to grow.

Personally I look beyond the tag the media has given him as an erratic player - like I've said before, you don't start at CB for Brazil if you haven't got any sort of quality about you.

Nah, Brazil always had strong individual players.....

However, everyone expects them to win the World Cup everytime, which causes other people to think they are "terrible," when they don't win, when in actuality their still better than most of the world.

Hence why I use the term 'marquee', we'd have to pay way over his market value, worth it though. The defence hasn't been the same since the Carvalho days. We need that touch of class at the back. Luiz & Cahill just isn't going to cut it, and JT will continue to pick up knocks.

I guess Oscar's shit as well then since starting for Brazil is "nothing" these days. Honestly amazing what length people will go to to discredit Luiz as a player.

Yes, Luiz has been caught out many times this season but so has our whole defence. Guys like Ivanovic and Cahill have been far more erratic than Luiz overall this season but because the media have tagged him as an erratic player people refuse to look beyond that.

Oscar has to skills to make it in a team like Chelsea, he's not that consistent but which 20/21? year old isn't when its his first year in this league?
Also , and for me that's usually a sign they will be great players, when he has a bad game, hes still ok, most important thing for a footballer in a topteam...

Great example of taking what I said and twisting it. This is a topic about Luiz not Cahill or Ivanovic. Yes all our defenders have made big mistakes this year. I dont think any of them are great. Like I said this is a topic about Luiz and people need to stop defending him with their lives, he isnt that great.

People want go get rid of Luiz for Hummels lol Thats like picking cancer over aids or something like that.

Sometimes I wonder if people actually watch Mats at all.He makes just as many mistakes as Luiz and the worst part is that he makes mistakes in big games.I cant believe that scrub still starts for our national team.
