More of a case of the manager recognizing what is needed during the game after a certain time to get the desired result. As for leaving him out of the big matches, think that has been blown out of proportion. It's usually only City away and maybe 1-2 games at Arsenal. Otherwise, he's played in many of them.

2013/14:

Man United (a) - Played the whole game

Man United (h) - Played until the 68th minute

Arsenal (a) - Played the last 13 minutes

Arsenal (h) - Played 67 minutes

Man City (h) - Played the whole game

Man City (a) - Played last 7 minutes

Liverpool (h) - Played the whole game

Liverpool (a) - Not in squad but remember, we concentrated on the Champions League then

Tottenham (a) - Played the full game

Tottenham (h) - Came on at HT

PSG (a) - Played 73 minutes

PSG (h) - Played 81 minutes

Atletico Madrid (a) - On the bench

Atletico Madrid (h) - On the bench

2014/15:

Arsenal (h) - Played 87 minutes

Arsenal (a) - Came off at HT due to concussion

Man United (a) - Played 67 minutes

Man United (h) - Played 67 minutes

Liverpool (a) - Played the full game

Liverpool (h) - Didn't play due to injury

Man City (a) - On the bench but wasn't used

Man City (h) - Played the whole game

Tottenham (h) - Played the whole game

Tottenham (a) - Played 45 minutes

PSG (a) - Played 7 minutes

PSG (h) - Played first 45 minutes

Well, I stand corrected sir :tophat:

Why exactly? Pogba is a better player, with far less limitations in his game, all the while being younger.

Saying that though, if Oscar continues to play the way he did in that first half against Swansea... He is well on his way to being top 3 at his position in the world.

For all the downs we've had to start the season, that one half of play against Swansea might have been the best half of football I've seen from a Chelsea player in a long time. This coming from someone who is very critical of Oscar in general.

That is exactly the issue though ! If Oscar plays like he did against Swansea, he is clearly a world class player, and then Pogba just becomes unnecessary. I have never been impressed when I've seen Pogba play. He can't dominate games. He isn't worth a top fee, and if we give Oscar to get him we are getting really badly mugged. Plus I'll be really unhappy we got rid of our one good Brazilian player which all the crappy ones stayed (Ramires and WIllian) considering also that we let go of Luiz.

I thought Oscar was our best player against Swansea but wow, people are really overrating his performance. He done well but his performance was not outstanding as everyone makes it out to be. Some comments like he is is well on to his way to being a world class no.10 and him being a world class player is just going OTT. To repeat, I think he had a good game but that was it. Some people are really overrating his performance that day. Probably because the majority of the team were not up to scratch.

I think he will also be one of the players to benefit the most from pedro signing. His goals and assists will surely increase. Willian however will be an important option in away games especially or when oscar is tired or not in good form. Any update on his injury?

I still think for big games I rather have Oscar then Fabregas.

Oscar has some creativity and is better to help us defend then Fabregas.

Fabregas can get the ball to Hazard and Costa to raise a counter attack, pretty important in these matches

actually fabregas rarely sets up a counter attack, as he hardly retents the ball deep in our half to launch a pass nor does he have the pace to carry the ball forward. most counterattacks get started by willian or hazard driving the ball forward, freeing themselves from their markers with their mazy dribblings.

No mention of Jose about his fitness in the press conference ?

Nothing in the public 10mins I've seen.

Oscar has been cut from the Brazil squad for the upcoming NT friendlies; I would therefore assume that he is still carrying an injury of some kind.
