Jase 43,479
And he's reverted to his old self after that good showing against West Ham. We'll be lucky to see another performance like that in 2016.
Popular Post! Styles 9,790 Posted August 20, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted August 20, 2016 Might be controversial but he wasn't that good against West Ham. But it's Oscar and the expectations are so low it's understandable. Fernando, bethos1, Barbara and 2 others
AWorriedChelseaFan 151
Squad player at best, should never be a starter. nono and Valdo
Parky 739
Today was the Oscar we know and expect. Don't get me wrong he will give a few good performances against weaker teams but only just enough for his fans to praise and defend this supposed wonder kid.
kellzfresh 7,229
Needs to raise his head when attacking, why does he always look on the ground when he's supposed to create??? Annoyingly average
Liuxas 125
Most overrated player in football history? Agree?. 25mln for a garbage player still can't believe we signed back in 2012. Worst transfer

Worst transfer How the hell can it be even jokingly considered "the worst transfer", when the club would easily recoup all of the money spent on him in case he was sold and in fact probably even make a profit. Never in any transfer reports with Oscar has the rumoured fee been less than the £19M Oscar was bought for (that's right £19M and not £25M, confirmed by Internacional in their financial report of that year). It's true he hasn't been quite what was expected of him when he signed but let's not be ridiculous here. Essien19 and blues.bridge
communicate 2,703
He need to ask fabregas for private lesson on how to pass and play as playmaker.  kellzfresh

Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
Very good game from him. Won the ball back high up the pitch plenty of times today. And linked up very well with Hazard/Willian in attack. Gilvorak
Gilvorak 3,734
Much more tolerable now that he's no longer masquerading as an attacking midfielder. If only he didn't still look like a 10 year old though.
killer1257 3,282
Still not creative enough, but we have the luck that Hazard in form has enough creativitiy to destroy our opponents,or at least against the smaller teams.
Barbara 15,149
My two cents:against a team that needed to double the quality of their display for it to be considered abysmal, he did okay for the most part , but also had some Burnley-esque moments there. I felt like sometimes Matic played more advanced than he did, but he covered a lot of distance and was everywhere. We shouldn't let mediocre opponents and okay matches to make us believe this is the way to go. We need to have more ambition than that. I used to defend Oscar as strongly as one might, but after three years, even the most hopeful fan must give up. He isn't as bad right now as he showed in the past, still it doesn't make him good enough. nono and The Skipper

We have been linked with other midfielders this summer and I wonder who Conte wants out from our current starters. Is it Matic or Oscar ? Or maybe both. I think the squad needs a very good box to box midfielder with strong defense and good passing and then maybe we can play both Michy and Costa as starters. If we then add a CB and a LB then we would have a really world class squad with the ability to compete with the best in Europe. I hope that maybe by the end of this window we'll get one more player, and then next window we'll the other two. Barbara
Hybrid Angel 2,130
Better than Fabregas for what we're expecting from our midfielders. Yes is nowhere near Fabregas creativity wise but he adds way more than him in terms of pace, energy, pressing, and defending. He isn't exactly bad at attacking either. We shouldn't be relying on individuals to create goal scoring chances, the majority of our attack should come from practice in attacking movements in training. That being said, Oscar still shouldn't get into an 'ideal' Chelsea starting XI. If we're gonna buy someone for that role it's important that they have the same profile as Oscar but the new player possesses superior qualities. Adnane 1,101
What the actual fuck, just noticed this guy isn't even 25. He surely has played an insane amount of football for his age, been critical of him at times but will surely cut him some slack next time. Needs to mature soon though, promising start to the season, hope he gets better by the week. jernej93 569
Oscar and Matić should be rotated with Fabregas, Chalobah and RLC just to find perfect pair alongisde Kante Chalobah was really good in preseason but Ruben is probably the next big thing if he can add something to his workrate and agression without the ball

KevinAshburner 1,270
I know that many of you don't like Oscar, but just give it some time and Oscar will and might find his feet for Chelsea. If Oscar stays at CFC until over 30+ years old, he might be the player that he should have been by now. Oscar is very skinny and too thin and he needs to put some more meat and muscle and bulk up a little bit. Â
