Popular Post! Jase 43,479 Posted May 6, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted May 6, 2015 ^^When Oscar has his day he is the best no 10 in the world. This exclusion, therefore, might be best for all parties - not having any break I would have thought speeds up his burnout quite a bit! That's highly questionable. Popular Post! MrExcalibur100 7,124 Posted May 6, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted May 6, 2015 Oscar on his day is the best number 10 in the world? Blimey. It's bizarre isn't it? Guy is not even in the top 5 in the league on any day. Silva, Cazorla, Ozil, Mata, Eriksen........ And then there's Spain. Why are Chelsea fans so blinded by Oscar? Even on other forums, it's the same. He barely did anything in Brazil. We signed a prospect, a talent and it shows. Is it just a case of grasping at straws, I wonder? Or the guy is foreign with a nice sounding name and scores the odd golazo? I will never understand. stroey, OneMoSalah, Blue's Clues and 3 others

DYC. 7,542
Who is the best 10 in the world? Not that i think it is Oscar obviously.I'm not big on rankings, so I wouldn't know. But I do think the 5 players MrE mentioned plus the likes of James, Isco, Pastore, Muller, Gotze, De Bruyne make a (far) stronger claim. Not to mention Messi, who basically plays the role of a #10, though coming inside from the right. Jase and The Skipper

Not even debatable tbh. stroey

LDN Blue 7,903
I'm more surprised no one mentioned Coutinho in this discussionAs one of the best number 10s? I don't know, not yet for me. The biggest criticism I had of him was a lack of end product, but this season he seems to be stepping it up with everything else not going right around him lmao. Then again, it must be kept in mind.. He did just turn 22. He's been about for a while and should get better from here.. Not sure if he'll be one of the greats though. MrExcalibur100 7,124
I'm more surprised no one mentioned Coutinho in this discussionHe is another one I forgot about. Coutinho is definitely a better player than Oscar this season and he has way more natural talent. He's the best player at Liverpool. Styles 9,790
Next season is going to be huge for Oscar as he won't have the fatigue excuse to fall back on.

Popular Post! stroey 2,525 Posted May 6, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted May 6, 2015 It'll be very interesting to see what we do with him this summer.Replace him if we want to go the next level, to win the CL and dominate big games. The only weak link out of our front 5 is Oscar.Cesc, Matic, Eden, Costa all are to top quality, Willian for me too but some will disagree.Would not mind him as a squad player but If some team bids £30M + for him, we need to consider selling him due to FFP. robsblubot 3,595
Scoring a few screamers won't get you far. At the moment, Coutinho is just a flashy player with little end product.Go back a few pages - it's a long thread - and the same folks are saying the odd goal and assist from Oscar isn't enough and doesn't make good prospect... Compared to Coutinho, Oscar is very very rounded as he's got the defensive side of his game down to exactly what his manager wants. Coutinho is really poor defending and with any physical contact? He's been very poor lately actually, despite a couple of goals in between - went missing several time esp in tough matches. A bad game by Oscar doesn't cost you the game as he's going to do his hard work. At São Paulo an internacional in Brazil Oscar was far more creative and the concern back then was whether he'd ever become a competitive player - mourinho has addressed that beautifully. Grass is definitely greener on the other side. (Carzola Mata... liverpool has one really good player and Coutinho ain't it.
