Eden Hazard

poor. he has been the hazard of old in only one match - BAYERN. which was actually not that suprising. in that match he played against rafinha with barely any defensive help from robben on the wings whatsoever. in PL, he gets doubled up against every team.

united - valencia and jones

eveton - naismith and coleman.

he really should pick his moments of trying to dribble his way out and concentrate more on link up play. i remember a moment late in the match when he tried to take on 4-5 everton players on the edge of the box, lost the ball and dint even run to retrieve it.

I keep expecting and saying to myself: today is going to be the day Eden will flourish... I keep being disappointed *sighs*

but I'll wait patiently because I know the day will come.

Yes, should have rested. Another reason to start KDB. He was not 100% anyone could see that. He faced 3 men most of the times on the left, so he had no real chance and moved backwards. Though he got tackled most of the times so I'd agree with Barbara adn Bluesmaster and encourage him to take them all on. He can do that and he just got as much chance of losing the ball than moving backwards so better try.

He needs help not to find himself stuck between 2,3,4 players all the time, and he also needs to just step up and face them off a few times.

Well its not the same Ashley Cole who used to link up with Malouda...these days Cole provides a good shift in defense but hardly anything with the ball. Plus he doesn't get forward as much..

yeah, if I had to blame anyone for the lack of link up it would be Cole, but also Oscar and Mata. It's not only the LB that can link up with him, but also the CAM and even the striker. I think there are two issues right now: he's not confident enough (or whatever is the reason) to pass by opponents, by dribbling or running (preferably both) and he's too isolated in our left side, except when he's near the corner. Players should approach him a bit higher - by the upper corner of the box and link up with him there. So I partially blame him and partially blame the rest of the team that seem to just expect him to work his magic and simply get rid of 3-4 players all by himself.

ITA.

That's what I mean in the posts I had earlier the week. I want to see a bolder Eden that isn't afraid of facing off the opponents. He's been playing sub-par to his own level, but somehow he still accounts to himself at least MOTM 15 votes for each official match we played this season

"step up" what did you expect with jose as a coach for this team. Laudrup would have been 10 times as good for the chelsea we have now. Jose is the best coach in the world but not the best coach for this team.

Best coach for this team would've been Klopp IMO

He did look a bit tired and unfit, but he was triple-marked throughout the game; not sure how people expected him to dribble past all three of them.

he should have passed the ball then to players in better position, than losing the ball 10-15 times to coleman/naismith.

Not saying he shouldn't have. I thought he had a bad game. But my post was in answer to some who were saying that they would have liked to see him take on players more during the match which, imo, was impossible.

So he may have an injury going into this game but he still played 90 minutes, and he was very poor IMO and ineffective.

Needs to step it up, I'm sure he will.

It must be the injury that's disturbing his peformance

Last season, he had 5 - 6 dribbles a match and was fouled more times per match.

This season, his dribbles have drastically reduced to 2 dribbles a match. For playing 90mins everytime, that's not good enough. I just pray mourinho rests him, so that he recovers fully from the injury

Ashely coles poor attacking peformance might also be a direct factor in this apart from the minor injury problem
