Eden Hazard

I swear I remember him saying he would stop talking about his contract and Real Madrid for the rest of the season. OK.

I am starting to think he is actually doing it on purpose, constantly flirting with Madrid. This way the club and fans may get really angry and will no longer mind if he decides to go.

Stop talking and make the decision.

Nothing new and Hazard himself is probably aware of the fickle Madrid fans but Isco got booed by them in the CSKA match earlier. Hazard better be careful of what he wish for...

Hands down, the worse fans in the World. Imagine how they will treat Hazard when he doesn't turn up in 2 out of every 4 games or so. They will invade the pitch to assissinate him.

The Word: Eden Hazard will never enjoy playing the false-nine role and Sarri must be careful

https://www.footballfancast.com/premier-league/chelsea/the-word-eden-hazard-will-never-enjoy-playing-the-false-nine-role-and-sarri-must-be-careful

Eden Hazard is one of the most technically gifted players to ever wear the blue shirt of Chelsea, but in recent weeks his future at Stamford Bridge has become increasingly uncertain, and his evident dislike of the false-nine role that Maurizio Sarri gave him in the win over Manchester City could force him even closer to the exit door.

Looking at the headline figures, it would seem that Hazard had a fantastic game in the shock win over City, as he provided the assists for both N’Golo Kante and David Luiz to secure the three points.

However, the 27-year-old was not happy after the game about the position and role that he was given by Sarri. Clearly, the Italian boss felt that neither Olivier Giroud or Alvaro Morata had done enough in recent weeks to warrant a start against the current champions, but Hazard felt as though he couldn’t influence the game as much from a central role as he usually does out wide.

In his post-match interview Hazard was clearly disappointed despite the impressive 2-0 win. The Belgian international felt that his contribution was limited by the central position, even though he played there before with Antonio Conte at the helm.

Hazard though is now clearly Chelsea’s main man and moving him into the centre did reduce his impact. He no doubt does have the talent and ability to learn the new role, but it is more a question of whether he wants to.

Hazard will undoubtedly stay if Chelsea show the ambition of a top club. He wants to win and challenge for European glory.

Honestly can’t fault him if he doesn’t want to spend his prime years on a team not prepared to meet those challenges.

I don't think so.  I think he's gone.  It's going to be even harder to convince him of our ambition (I think a lot of us need convincing as well) if we're transfer banned.  At this point, there's not much else the club can do and he still hasn't signed an extension.

I don’t think Hazard is prolific enough in Real Madrid’s eyes to warrant the price tag that we’ll slap on him, but he’s desperate for a move so it gets awkward for both parties. Is there middle ground? I would be disappointed if we didn’t get around £100m plus for him, especially when you consider he’s running down his contract, but would Real Madrid cough up that much? In my opinion, there are better options out there for them than spending that type of money on Hazard.

Hazard talking about Real Madrid at every opportunity is a funny one as well. It seems like he’s doing it to invite offers, but I get the feeling none are coming through, which is why he’s doing it repeatedly. It’s coming across as a desperate “come get me” plea, but Real are sitting on their hands. I could be wrong though. Maybe Real Madrid have told him to do it to lessen his value and condition Chelsea to the fact he wants out. Either way, it’s an ugly tactic and you just get the feeling that Chelsea and Hazard are not going to end on good terms if he leaves.

I hope you are wrong but alot of what you are saying wrings the bells of sense.

I think you're forgetting Chelsea fans also booed Hazard (and Fabregas and Costa). Madrid fans are the most fickle but let's face it all fans are fickle.

How are the two even comparable? Madrid fans boo their players almost on a weekly basis and that despite whatever they have achieved for the club. That scenario with us, was done only by a small group of Chelsea fans and that was a reaction to Mourinho's sacking, which we were right to sack him and those fans' reaction was silly.

Just take a look at how Chelsea fans are talking about him now vs  the beginning of the season when he was in top form.

I know what you're trying to get at but those examples are terrible. Clockwork and Sideshow Luiz are just resigned to losing Hazard, which I think deep down, we all have been feeling the same for some time now. That's different from actually criticizing him, is it?

I compared them because you act like we don't have fickle fans. Like i said Madrid fans are definitely worse but that doesn't mean we don't have fickle fans of our own. Modern day fans are just fickle in general.

I think you misunderstood me. The "take a look ..." part wasn't directed at Clockwork and Sideshow. I quoted them because they were talking about the club needing to show ambition to which i replied " we had 7 years to show ambition ...".

I was referring to, in the last few pages, Hazard being called a little cunt, told to fuck off, belittling him in favour of Salah. You can say it's because people are coming to terms with the fact he's leaving but it still proofs people are fickle because they wouldn't talk about him that way if he was still in the form he was in at the beginning of the season.

Where did I imply that we don't have fickle fans? There are PLENTY on Twitter, for example. Was merely pointing out that things aren't gonna be great with Madrid fans if/when Hazard moves there.
