This is the sad truth. Put Hazard on City or Madrid/Bayern/Barca and he'd be a world beater. We simply don't have anyone with technical ability near his level around him. He'd be surrounded by top class footballers at those clubs rather than just athletes who are only good for running like we have here. 

It's going to be very hard not only watching him leave next summer but also watching him blossom into the player we've hoped to see for years. And no chance we can replace him with someone else at his level. It would be hard enough with CL football. Without it, the best we can hope for is to get a Mané type deal. A player from a small club coming off a great season.

Definitely that was one of the few good moments for us, but when did he touch the ball again after that?

 

If I remember he went back on the wing again and faced isolation after that.

Are you surprised given our non-existent attacking play? Even Messi would struggle in this team.

players like Neymar, Suarez, lewa, and a lot others Are picked because they did play at a very high level while not surrounded by top class footballers.

by stating that he needs more support, you are automatically saying that he's not that great. Bale scored tons of goals playing alongside mediocre players.

there is simply no excuse for a performance like this (arsenal). He needs to do more! Not even saying better, but more.

btw, barca and Bayern employ players with high work rate who are always involved n the play - not really what hazard is known for. Madrid? Yes he would prob do a lot better there, but then again, anyone would.

Id still keep him. The one that had to be sold was Willian, I was saying it for the longest. And now people are realizing how average he was. 

Willian hit his peek, Hazard has more to give. 

Granted we are over relying on him, because if he don't perform we don't do much.

If we were relying on him he should get every ball. Now this is not the case, make him be the orchestra leader.

Costa shouldn't be blamed for Hazard's average performance but i get what Coop is getting at. 

Hazard frequently passes the ball to Costa and then makes a run into the central area looking for the lay off from Costa but it very rarely happens. Most of the time Costa just ignores Hazard's run. 

Funny thing is that the times costa does pass it back to Hazard it's almost always results in a good chance for us. (Willian's chance in the first half against Arsenal for example)

Ofcourse he needs to do more. The seasons before we didn't have more quality in the squad then we do now and Hazard was able to perform then.

However there's also no doubt that having so many limited players in our starting lineup is making it a lot more difficult for Hazard then it would be if we had the quality of a Barcelona, Bayern  or Real Madrid running around.

Also i think the fact that Hazard is a pass first, shoot second type of player makes the quality of his team mates a bigger factor then it otherwise would be.

Even when Silva is running the show for city, and De Bruyne is on the wings he always looks to try to get touches and get involved. Hazard wanted no parts of that today, even when that clown Willian had moved to the middle and tried to get going.

 

He could look like Nolito or Sterling in that squad, but I don't see the KDB or Messi in him. Not anymore at least. Maybe when he first came he had it, but he's developed differently.

BOLDED SECTION!!!!! I genuinely think if he was at a different club, he would've developed into a future Ballon D'or winner. Not at this club tho. He's lost a lot of the good attributes he had at Lille. Go watch his Lille match comps. He was 10x more aggresive. Maybe its cuz he was at a small club and he HAD to. But nevertheless, if he worked under Pep or a top attacking coach, instead of working under clowns like Rafa, Jose, Hiddink and now Conte... none of whom can play proper ATTACKING football. Something about him which I just don't like. Never seems really bothered to me when things go south. To me, he just plays here because he wants to move away. 

Also, you don't just get voted to star on the new FIFA 17 cover when you did nothing and were MIA last season, Eden. That's not how it works.

So you're forgetting about Hazard's performances at Lille and everything he achieved there?

Oh, and the HUGE difference is that Neymar, Suarez and Lewandowski were signed by Barcelona and Bayern Munich - two of the 3 elite teams in European football. Lucky for some.

Am I saying Hazard is incapable of performing badly? Nope. But the reality is our team is absolute bullshit. No one single player is every going to perform consistently well in this joke of a team. Willian won player of the year last season based on about 10 decent performances and 3 fluke freekicks ffs.

I call it the way I see it: currently I just don't see much difference between the much maligned players and hazard, because they all look alike when on the pitch. Well Eden is the one doing the least amount of running, that is.
