Popular Post! Hkibou 622 Posted April 9, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted April 9, 2013 As much as i adore Rio Mavuba, a real leader and strong personality, excellent mentality both off and on the pitch, i'm not sure he would blossom in the Premier League. In Ligue 1 he compensate his 1m69 by his awesome work rate and sens of anticipation, i don't think this it's enough for Premier League and C1 top level...And since his injury, 23 yo Idrissa Gueye, his replacement as n°6, has been far more impressive. Since then Lille won 6 out of 7 games, and aerial game is not the weakness of our midfield anymore.http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xyuw6c_hazard-de-retour-a-lille_sportOff voice :Eden Hazard is back at Lille. Not on the pitch, but on the scene. And for the good cause : he kindly accepted his mate's invitation, Rio Mavuba who was organizing a charity concert. A good chance to see that the LOSC and his supporters haven't forgotten him, and for us to catch up on him.Eden : I come back here to see my friends and family, And when it's for a good cause also... I have to you know, it's important. Rio's a brother. So how has it been in CFC ?It started very well, i was doing really nice. After that there's been some off games, along with the rest of the team. Now we're back on track and i think we can wrap up this season pretty well. We have one foot in the Europa League semi-finals, two in FA Cup's, in the league we aim to qualify for the champion's league , i'm confident we can still dream of doing a perfect end season, it's just up to us to do the riht things. You don't regret your choice, signing for the Blues ?No, not at all ! I'm in an amazing group, with amazing people, i'm enjoying it. It's a big club also; After that he mainly talks about Lille. bababoom, NiclasCFC, Bir_CFC and 3 others

Hkibou 622
Perhaps so but his defensive abilities, in terms of tracking back, protecting his FB etc has gradually improved since Benitez took over.Well he's been playing football since he was 2, lived for 6 years in the LOSC youth center, played for another 4 years as a pro, i can't let you say his defensive abilities are due to 4 months with Benitez. It's not fair to all the others who have coached him. And brought him to a level of consistency he has not yet reached under Benitez.Beware of that tendency i've witnessed from big club supporters of forgetting the player's past, and take credit for what he is. Madrid fans are especially good at this, i've talked with some and they all claim Di Maria and Benzema are what they are thanks to Madrid and Mourinho only. Not very respectful of Benfica and Lyon ... underdrog and bababoom

Not very respectful of Benfica and Lyon ... What I actually meant in the previous post is that his defensive qualities has improved under Benitez if you compare it to when he was under RDM. His defending then was rather average, sometimes non-existent, and didn't offer enough protection to his FB.

mediator 2,026
A Benteke's team mate called him a cunt, so he asked "what does a cunt means?" and they answered to it "ca veut dire que t'es con" JDY

Hkibou 622
Mavuba wouldnt be good in Pl because of his height?MAKELELE. All I need to say...Makele had better technique than Mavuba. His pass range was also way wider, long and short. Two very different players actually.Mavuba capitalizes on his assets (anticipation, tackle, pace, safe) knows his lacks and play as simply as possible. He's an intelligent player, he would know how to adapt to PL, so yes he's be good in PL eventually. Not Chelsea material, that's all. Not in top teams who can't afford too much an adaptation time for their players. The Skipper

I'm pretty sure with any decent coach Eden would have followed the same curve.
