The goal wasn't his mistake. It was a great ball in and he had no chance of getting out of the way. The problem was that he didn't need to give that free-kick away in the first place and even if you think he had a great game (personally I thought he was average) then it's still another case of him ruining a good performance with a brainfart.

Actually did a decent job in midfield and one of the rare occasion this season where he really played for the shirt with passion. But we can see by his movement in the final third that he is not a midfielder. Unlucky with the OG. Can't believe he is getting too much stick for our defeat.

I'm a goalkeeper myself and there was no way Cech could have come out to claim it. The ball was moving far to low and there were simply to many players between him and the ball.

Defenders should have dealt with it in the first place.

About Luiz bashing, for me the story is pretty clear. JT scores an own goal against Palace, not a single word in the press about his own goal.

Luiz scores an own goal against PSG, he is the villain. Some papers are even saying the 1st goal was his fault because he lost the ball possession, even if Terry assisted (using Mourinho words) Lavezzi in that goal.

So many sheep always jumping to hasty conclusions based on a collectively poor game or the media's interpretation. There are so many fans who are blind to see others' mistakes and not criticize them. A good example is Terry, with all the experience he manages to fuck it up for us in the first minutes, but nooo, it was a human mistake, but David Luiz is rapidly becoming a scapegoat and it makes my blood boil looking at all these sheep bashing him even though that fag Matuidi seeked wisely contact because he could see that David was pressing strongly and rightly so. I know how much he loves this club, how much he plays for the shirt, I remember how he cried when we lost to that lousy Brazilian team in the CWC. It's clear to see that he doesn't have a halo on his head as players like Terry do according to these fans. It's amazing how you fail to understand things which are so simple that even a child could.

Luiz isn't getting bashed for the own goal - own goals happen. He's getting bashed for the needless free-kick that he gave away.

Disagree. I've played as a GK at a pretty high level and I'm telling you, the goal is 100% on Cech. If Cech comes out and challenges the ball (which doesn't look that hard when you look at the replay) the goal has been prevented.

I think his starting position was all wrong. From his starting position, I agree that he could not have gotten to it because it came in too low. Even our defenders positions were all wrong for that goal, imo.

I think the defensive line was not angled as it should have been relative to where the ball was being crossed from - it was pretty much in line with the ball. Sky Sports pundits picked up on this as did Mourinho, who in his interview said the line was "not the correct one", and so it is very disappointing that the defence, especially with John Terry in there, could make such a basic error at this level although that was surprisingly the pattern of the game.
