I think Luiz has the POTENTIAL to be a fantastic defender. The way he plays is simply too naive sometimes. His energy is absolutely fabulous and we can exploit that sometimes. Perhaps Terry and whomever else is next to Luiz should predict his immature decisions sometimes and be quick to cover up for him when he misses a big tackle etc.

But I think that will come down to the coaching staff and senior players. they need to take a vested interest in the fact that with some added professionalism and maturity he could grow to be one of the greatest backs in the world!

Reactions about Luiz taking the penalty are a knee-jerk reaction, in my opinion. Had he scored, everybody would have said how good Luiz' technic is.

The fact is that, in the squad we had yesterday, Luiz was the best technical gifted player alongside Anelka. Considering the recent penalty record of the latter man, it made sense that he was the one who took care of the penalty.

ps : yeah, the fact that a defender is one of the two most technical players in the team is for the least worrisome.
