I do think he'll be back next season, hopefully in place of Mikel.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Mikel sits on the bench a lot and he is experienced enough to play in any game. He played more than 330 matches for Chelsea. Aké has played about ten games in professional football, most of them were cameos. I think he needs at least one season with regular playing time.

It's scary to think this could very well be RLC's fate next season. The broken promises is not only demoralizing to these youngsters but also further damages Jose's credibility. How can anyone ever believe any word that comes out of his mouth regarding youth development after this. Didn't Baker have zero appearances as well before being shipped out on loan.

I don't think I will be able to stomach it if jose (inevitably) misuse and stagnate the development of RLC,Boga and Solanke.

What a waste...after his cameo in CL, he definately deserved more chances, even moreso if we secured title in comming weeks.

This was huge mistake from Mou in Ake development, I dont know why he kept him and even gave him #6 if he had zero interest and belief in playing him...would be better to loan low PL team from beggining of season, or to some french team.

Anyone saw him for Reading yesterday or knows some Reading fans and who can give us a few ideas on how he looked.

I just read some twitter comments on his performance and they all were the same opinion, which is a good sign,I guess.

They all said that he was good, some even said that he was a beast and in general, there was a lot of praise for him.

Seems that he did well, but twitter is not really a good source,I have to admit.

Nathan First match with Reading Football Club.

Reading 1 - Cardiff City 1

To me he has had a great debut. Always well placed and full of personality assuming a leading role in midfield. There is no many of his plays because it is a summary of five minutes but he seems pretty sure of himself without noticing the absence of minutes to take physical form competitive and showing to have a good pace of play.

I think it is good news for us see how Ake maintaining the performance he showed in The Academy. Retrieves balls, good distribution of balls, comes to the rival box and as always with a mentality of leader. This guy has something inside...

Good luck dude!

See ya later Mikel. More than capable of replacing him in the squad, and imo if Jose didn't believe in him he would have been on loan for all this season, he clearly just wants to observe him more and keep him match fit.

Apparently we're paying them 35K/wk so they would give him playing time.

A few comments from some Reading forum:

"Really solid first performance from Ake, vs. Cardiff. Didn't try anything spectacular, but barely put a foot wrong in the whole game. Gave us real solidity in midfield and should have provided a platform for other players to perform, but that didn't quite happen...."

"I thought he look very composed on the ball, but he did disappear a bit in the 2nd half, but given his tender years and his 1st performance that could be expected. I`m sure he will grow into the side in the cominng weeks.

Wondering if SC is looking at a all Chelsea CM partnership.
Hoping for a season long loan next year."
"Impressed overall with Ake."
"Thought AKE looked composed and kept it simple. He was bypassed
a bit at first and I was disappointed at the number of times he made
himself available for a simple ball from Pearce only to be ignored and
the ball lumped long. The more we use him the more points we'll get."
"Controlled the game, largely due to Ake who i thought had a decent debut. Worth seeing if we can get him on loan next season"
" Ake looked a potential superstar"

I thought Nathan made the key contribution to Reading's goal with a beautifully simple piece of play but, while these comments are encouraging, I find people are sometimes too positive in their early assessments of a new player. I'd be more inclined to take notice of what's being said about Nathan after the honeymoon period is over.

He will be back here before the honeymoon is over

Reading 0-0 Blackburn

This week Nathan has played as Left-Back.

There are no many of his plays in this summary but the few he appears he is always well positioned and with a mature attitude.

Maybe Ake could have space on our team next season as Left-Back.

Regards to ALL.
