"Ake looked good at left back"

"Ake 6: Looked comfortable there, but shouldn't quit his day job in midfield."

"Ake: 8 - excellent in first half, looked comfortable"

"Ake slotted in at LB in place of Obita and, in my opinion, a lot of the improvement in the side is down to the composure, temperament and skill shown by Ake and Chalobah. They are both so comfortable on the ball that the confidence spreads through the other members of the side."

"Obita can learn from Ake that simple precise passes are better than lofted, aimless balls which he does a little too often for my liking."

"Ake at left-back was excellent."

Back at Chelsea after the loan expired?

That's what I've read, although I find it surprising that we would not extend his loan there till the end of the season. He's doing really well there and even won MOTM in their last against Bournemouth despite Reading losing the match.

Think so. He was in the Audi commercial with Hazard, Willian and Remy.

Think the loan was just to keep him sharp, than anything else. But then that raises the question why RLC wasn't sent there too! Seems Reading want him back though.

I think his future next season will hinge on whether Jose wishes to offload Mikel and trust Ake. Maybe he just hasn't made the decision yet and wanted to see how Ake copes in a proper team.

Pure speculation on my part, I have no knowledge of the facts but...

Are there not strict rules which govern emergency loans? Are those rules not likely to specify under what circumstances such a loan can be extended? If there are no such rules, and an emergency loan can be treated just like any other, then what's the point of a transfer window, and a separate loan window, for Championship clubs?

Logically there must be rules and perhaps they have played a part in Nathan's return to Cobham.

Emergency loans are one can not be extended. It's the same with Kalas. Kalas has one more game this weekend and then his loan is done untill next season.

This weekend Reading play in FA cup and Ake is cup tied in that tied.

The Audi commercial was most certainly filmed before he went on loan.

Kalas's was a normal loan?

Emergency loan rule:

They can range from 28 days to 93 days. The two clubs may decide to introduce a break clause, in accordance with section 53.3.8 of the Football League regulations, which means the player can be recalled any time after the 28 day mark.

Ake's loan was for one-month, it expired and he returned to Chelsea.

No, Ake's loan runs until April 22, so he will play against Birmingham on Wednesday before returning to Chelsea on Thursday.

As stated by others above, he is cup-tied and therefore cannot play against Arsenal tomorrow.

The Audi commercial was shot before he went on loan.

I think his future at the club is at LB. at least in the near future.

  • 1 month later...

looks so good on the ball and even off it.

so surprised that he would be loaned out next season (if i got what jose said).

has looked so good whenever given an oppurtunity.

So you rate Ake's game as so good but thought RLC's performance was very very average?

i honestly dont know what game you were watching or if you were even watching the game.

ake's one overhead pass (to izzy) was more than what RLC did the whole game.

i guess since jose said that RLC is the next big thing, then we all have to praise him to the core!!!

but honestly this is ridiculous. today was no doubt nerves and just a 2nd start plus a man down, but lets please call it as it is.

our midfield was disjointed even before cesc's sending off. the gap between matic and RLC was shocking. the amount of time WBA midfielders got on the ball (they even showed a couple of clips in teh HT analysis) was ridiculous. RLC might have the potential to become the next whoever, but atleast be honest with your own self. today would go down as a match from where RLC would have got to learn a lot.

Ake came on when the game was at 3-0, how can you even put any substance into him having a good game? I don't understand. He was alright, didn't do anything spectacular. Who's sugarcoating performances now?

please read the edited post.

and i am not sugarcoating anything. looking at how filipe defends, and the rumors that he might be leaving in the summer, ake going on loan seems foolish. and as i said, he did more wiht that one pass than RLC did in the whole match. also, with ake, there is some past references too where he has performed 10 times better than what rlc put in today.

its almost like people want to force RLC down other fans' throat. i voted him as the MOTM in the last match (though think it should have been JT), but thought he was poor today, specially defensively after seeing him own coutinho multiple times in the previous game. again, dont know why you cant call a spade, a spade.
