Chelsea vs QPR

We need to play at least one match with our "CL Finals Team", including subs and everything.

This is not that match, as many of the lads will still be feeling it from Tuesday.

Neither will that match be against Liverpool, as it is too important a game. But perhaps 8-12 days before the final we definitely need to play one of those Prem matches with our CL team to get the feeling for it. You know Bayern are going to do it in the BL...

The game to do it is Probably the FA Cup Final, 14 days before the UCL Final. I'd like to win the FA Cup so I hope to see a near full strength team. For the QPR, Newcastle and Liverfool league games we should have a mixture of Subs/Reserves and First Teamers, mostly Subs and Reserves though.

Ramires needs to be rested until the cup final. He should also rest Lampard til the final too. Where's Hutchinson? He should play seriously he was immense against them in the Carling Cup 2 years ago, was motm. Should take chances because it will still be strong enough to challenge and beat QPR. Football's a squad game

Looks like it will be either Bos or Romeu as CB:

watched romeu as CB in the Spain u21 and he was solid enough. Can see him having a role to play in the CL final so is definitely get him some game time now. If we could get him back to the form he showed before he went on gardening leave he would be a welcome addition. Plus did anyone see him and Robbie talking after the semi (when we put barca out, just in case it hasn't been mentioned) final? He looked a happy boy thinking bobby maybe told him his match time is about to improve.

Wondering if Mark Hughes would go with 4-4-2 on Sunday considering we are having CBs problem and the fact that Taarabt is out suspended. Think he has played with just 1 striker in recent weeks with Taarabt behind.

Just a couple of stats on this game.

  • Chelsea have yet to win a Premier League London derby this season - D5 L2. They've never gone a PL season without winning one.
  • Only TWICE in the last 9 Premier League meetings between Chelsea & QPR that either side have scored more than one goal.
  • Victors of the Chelsea v QPR derby have usually won it by the odd goal with 1-0 scoreline being the most common, occurring 4 times.
  • Queens Park Rangers's form in their last 8 Premier League games - LWLWLWLW. Consistent.
  • QPR's last away win was in November 2011, beating Stoke 3-2 at the Britannia. Since then, their away form has read - LLDLLDLLLLL.
  • QPR have lost all 3 Premier League London derbies away from home this season; scored 1 and conceded 10.
  • QPR have failed to find the net in 5 of their last 6 trips to Stamford Bridge - 3 in PL & 2 in cup comps. They've scored just once.
  • Mark Hughes has seen his sides(Blackburn, Man City & Fulham) failed to score in 5 of his last 6 PL visits to Stamford Bridge.
