Jype 6,398
Cech ; Cole, Luiz, Cahill, Bos ; Lampard, Mikel ; Malouda, Mata, Kalou ; DrogbaThere's just no way we can experiment with things like Torres on the wing in a Champions League final so there's really not a lot of options.Anyone else fancy Kalou to score a lucky tap-in as the winning goal? Kojo 4,676
If Essien can get back to himself, just on a bit of a form. Then it will be vital, he is finished definitely. But we need him to play like he did against Napoli, yes that was the game he proved he was finished, but he still played good. He stopped a lot of play. nadavTKL 1,787
For me..----------Cech-----------Bos--Luiz-Cahil-Cole--Lamps-Mikel-Ess--Mata-Drogba-MaloudaThat would be solid. A lot of you want us to play 4-2-3-1 i see, but i think that a central midfield of Mikel and Lampard is not defensive enough for us.Bayern (and Real, but Bayern got through, which is very good for us imo...) are playing much better football than we do, and we need to closethem out. Not like we did with Barca, but still... we need to work. If Essien could improve more in those two weeks (played good against Arsenal btw..)he and Malouda should be good enough. Wish we had Ramires, but its still all right.

manpe 10,861
CechLuiz - Bosingwa - Cahill - ColeMikel - EssienMata - Lampard - KalouDrogbaI could agree with that if you changed Bosi's and Luiz's positions. It would be the worst game to start experimenting in.. how much has Luiz played there? How many games has Bosingwa actually started there (not been used as a hole-filler)? And I dread to see Bosingwa dealing with Gomez in air... yes it may have worked against the barca midgets, but Gomez is an animal in air. By all means, I'm not on the bandwagon of 'move Luiz to RB so he can attack more', it's more for the sake of Bosingwa not stuffing up and getting skinned by Ribery on that side, than Luiz trying a more attacking method. Question is which we need more against bayern? aimless speed or some intelligence and defensive ability on slow legs? To be fair to Bosi, he doesn't always perform badly, the stature of this game might make him work extra hard, concentrate and not fuck up. But Ferreira should still be seriously considered. Sheva. 5,373
Can't play Bosingwa at CB when (if) you have Luiz and Cahill fit.I would take Ferreira over Bosingwa as RB.

buccaneer 16
Dont fancy how as a manager could you have the balls and the cheek to tell Bosingwa he is not playing in the finals. After the splendid display as Centre back vs Barca. He has bloody earned his place !

themightyblue 443
I'd play:CechBosingwa Cahill Luiz ColeLampard MikelKalou Mata MaloudaDrogbaThink we've got to go 4231 because Mata can be a massive influence on this game, we've seen that Bayern can easily be got at and with Badstuber out of the final it will probably mean Van Buyten coming in who's worse than Mertesacker and slow as fuck. Mata also has to play centrally because Gustavo who is their discplined DM will be missing and this might leave spaces for Mata to exploit. Malouda and Kalou for the wings purely because they will track back and run up and down that line all day and thats what we need as Ribery and Robben will hurt us. Sturridge simply isn't good enough defensively and as for Torres on the wing? RDM has only tried that when we're chasing a goal so doubt he'd do that in the final of the CL.I was tempted to go for 433 and make everything compact but Mata is a must start for this game and having him on the wing won't be a good idea because despite all his efforts he's not good enough to defensively to handle Bayern's wide players. Final point is, we never lose with Kalou in the team
