"Heroic City lose 2-1 at Home!"

Oi, we beat them 1-0, and came back from 2-0 with 10 men at the Nou Camp. Those are heroic performances!

Lemme hear how "unlucky" City are to be down.

Champions of Europe you'll never Sing that!

I had to laugh when Clichy got sent off the commentator said "...aww that's a shame for City..."

Hahahahahahah I don't remember them saying that about Matic????

What was Messi doing with that awful penalty??

Clichy is a joke. Bosingwa 1.5. Don't understand how he's still a City player but I can't complain. I dread the day they finally upgrade their defence.

Pundits here said Messi has missed 5 of his last 10 penalties (don't know if that's in all competitions or just the CL). That's a horrible record. Don't know why he wanted to head the rebound in the corner either. He was majestic today though, ripped them apart.

It's funny how City and Arsenal are the most impressive sides on the ball in England, but look no more than decent when facing top sides. No wonder why our own Chelsea struggle so much in possession against quality sides. Simply embarrassing how Barca have made City look at times. Not the least bit surprising either.

Sometimes you just have to be honest and admit your inferiority. The English top sides haven't even declined compared to 7-10 years ago imo. In fact, they are very similar and that's the problem. The game has evolved, the demands for top quality have changed and they haven't adjusted in the manner they should have.

The importance of pro-active defending, the importance of technique in all areas of the pitch (ball-playing defenders, highly technically gifted players in advanced positions), the importance of tactically clever players rather than fighters (you need both but clever players are more important and valuable). The elite sides of today have simply surpassed the old standards of brilliance by quite a margin. English sides still don't value those demands as they should. Italian teams went through a very similar problem, though they're 'decline' was more extreme because they lost their financial power (bye bye quality players)

Football will always be unpredictable, and the CL is a cup competition, so there will always be upsets. But the English top sides will never look as impressive as the current elite. Just keep convincing yourself the PL is the best in the world because of the financial power. Unless they change, they'll continue to lag behind.

Did u watch the bayern game? They played wih youngster and 10men and embrassed city...

Bayern's so called youngstars usually are highly experienced players having played professional football for up to 5 years. Players like Rhode or Hoijberg are the same kind of decent players Fernandinho, Fernando, Milner and all those average players City got in their squad.

Also DYC's post had nothing to do with Bayern. Don't know why you even bother to post on a Chelsea forum when every other post of you is some unrelated bullshit praising one of Bayern or Robben. Why not troll people on a Bayern forum then?

Messi master class.

Should of been more goals, but the first half was brilliant barcelona. I thought Rakkitic was outstanding as well. Suarez scored a brace, however, everything I watch barcelona play, he always seems like the odd person on the squad.

Meh if it was us I would expect a hardcore defensive performance aiming for a 0-0 at home. Not saying it is the right approach but against Barca, Bayern or Real I think we should do it. Any other team like PSG...etc are unacceptable though.

Possibility of see both games in deferred but two at same time. Which do you recommend me?. City vs Barca or Borussia - Juve.

Both first halves were amazing in their own right, but if you want to see messi at his best (in the 1st half) i'd pick the barca game.

“Fear?” said City’s captain. “We don’t fear them. You don’t go in at this level fearing strikers.

“We want to play against them. It will be the fourth time in a year. There’s nothing new to worry us, it’s a case of having the whole team at a very high level.

“They’re a special team with special players, of course. I think their ability is not about hurting you all game - you can have tougher games when you go to Stoke City.

Wonder if Kompany still feels the same. :chai:
