Im some instances that's not wise, would you let Kenny Dalglish or Rafa Benitez have control of £150m, for example.

Then at least we can then say its the managers fault for signing sub-par players. I don't believe there is enough space for a football director and a manager to be honest and neither did Mourinho. I think if we are to fairly judge RDM then he must have the full power like Fergie has had at Man Utd for decades.

Hazard, Marin and KDB are going to be unveilled?

Tomorrow is likely to be just for Robbie and rightfully so - he deserves his own day in the spotlight.

Last season they dripfed new signings to the media a few days after they started training. So I expect Chelsea to hold individual press conferences for each over the next couple of weeks. They may well be presented whilst on our US tour.

Then it could be too late, Kenny's piss poor signing's have set Liverpool back years.

The structure at our football club is very similar to that of the majority of football clubs on the continent. Because the setup is largely alien to english football it's ridiculed, but the trophies justifies the means.

I believe robbie will have input and involvement in transfers, just not total control.

Well I'm buzzing for both actually. Buut, it should make sense, seeing as though Training starts today and all the players (cept. Torres and Mata) are online. It would be interesting. I am just asking, because I saw a lot of reports saying that it would be today. :)

RDM press conference key notes:

- Spoke to Daniel Sturridge, feeling better, but has Viral Meningitis. Currently still in hospital. Will be monitored daily. Club doctor with him, updated hourly. Hopefully he'll play at the Olympics. Difficult to give a time limit on him, but optimistic.

- Very happy to be staying at the club. Always said he'd accept and respect any decision and is looking forward to working with the group of players to bring more success.

- The pressure of the job will remain the same, a lot of games this season.

- Says the end of last season was 'fantastic' and we have the players to be able to compete again this year. Says at Chelsea you always want/need to be able to compete at all levels/competitions.

- Says the 'shadow of Guardiola' will not be effect him, says its been there since day one.

- Eden Hazard is a 'wonderful player', achieved alot for a player at such a young player. Should not forget he is still young, but will hopefully bring alot of creativity to the team.

- Marin will be versatile, which is very helpful for the team.

- Says he is happy with the team, will continue to monitor the market, and if there is any opportunities we will act.

- Would not discuss Hulk, as the price would increase.

- Benayoun and Malouda are still here, and 'will see what happens'.

- Expects Frank Lampard to return fit when he returns to pre season training.

- Happy for Mata and Torres, says hes congratulated them despite it being against Italy. Said Torres winning golden boot is 'fantastic' and could provide confidence to Fernando for the new season.

- Wished AVB good luck and says he'll be a success at Spurs. Isn't surprised that he got a new job quickly.

- On goal line technology vote this week - RDM is in favour, and says 'its just a matter of a time'.

- On whether he'll be here in six/twelve months time, he says he knows managers are judged by results, and its no different for him than anyone else.

- Went on holiday after Munich, which is why the appointment took longer than expected.

- 'Goal' is too win as many games as we can and challenge in all the competitions we are in. 'Priority' is to challenge.

- Drogba was an outstanding player, but we have to move on, and other players will rise to the occasion and fill the gap he has left. On Torres replacing him, he says we have different options with Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku'.

- Transfer market not about how much we spend, but finding the best players and most functional players for our team.

- Training at Cobham until the 14th, then travelling to America.

- Players from the European Championships have 21 days holiday and then return. So the England players are due to return on the 16th, Cech the 11th, Malouda the 15th, Meireles the 19th, Mata/Torres 22nd. so will start training when the team are in America.

MATT FUCKING JARVIS???

Don't know where you got this rumour from. However we could do a lot worse than Jarvis.

I'll tell you what I know of him, he was my Daughters Prom Night date, therefore we've a bit of knowledge about him as a person as well as a player.

Quality delivery into the box, think Damien Duff at his best. Get's the ball, makes space and delivers the ball, doesn't fanny around trying to beat multiple players, he does what it says on the tin marked 'Winger'.

Hard worker and chips in with 5-10 goals a season. I'd have him at Chelsea in a shot. He might not ever be a first choice, first name on the teamsheet player but he'd do us a good job and would be a better choice currently than Malouda.

He's just bought a house near the Training Ground, however as his old 'home' is only 10 miles or so away I wouldn't necessarily make too much of that, plus and as a person he's a good-un. Still knocks about with his mates from school and hasn't got a 'celebrity' attitude. He's very loyal and would offer good squad-rotation options.

Bottom line is he's a viable option and English which is important going forward.

The other thing is I'd probably get to obtain a good few signed photo's, shirts, tickets, be in a photo of a goal celebration or two

I thought he was decent. Bottom line is he couldn't get into the Wolves team last year. I don't see this happening.

I assume this will be re-run in full tonight on chelsea tv? Looking forward to it, he always comes across excellently and you can always feel his passion for the club!

I'm really looking forward to next season.

^^ This. The phrase 'Another overrated English player' springs to mind. It smacks of a Liverpool signing to me.

It's not being shown in full, but blues news at 6:30 should show a lot of it.
