The Roberto Di Matteo Thread

Don't see why RDM would want to go to Villa anyway. Randy Lerner seems to reluctant to spend much and the club is in big mess right now. And after managing us in recent months including winning the FA Cup and Champions League, I'm sure he will be looking for a bigger job elsewhere IF Roman doesn't want him.

RdM's family still live in the midlands and Lerner will give him time to build a side as long as the team is clear from the relegation battle, play decent football and bring through the youth players.

I'm sorry but their treatment from Chelsea FC is is a disgrace.

RdM and EN should just walk away on June 30th with their heads held high.

They will be legends forever.

Just dont see the point in Guardiola.I dont think we can play the sort of football Barcalona play and manage to get results! And considering Chelsea beat that Barcalona team this season...pass pass pass pass doesnt always work!

I'm sure Chelsea could play like that but it will take time and I can't see RA giving any manager that amount of time and total control that he needs.

Yeah a lot of time and like you said they never get it.And seeing the way if they came up against a defensive team they became stuck. Not always the best way.And we dont want to end up being an Arsenal...good football but won sod all for so many years

But if he does get it over RDM...who delivered him the trophy he wanted and still could get the flick. If this attacking football doesnt work out..cant see him lasting either.

man guardiola, idk guys, lets not forget he had best player in world so cant go wrong with that, but besides that i would really stay away cuz of our track record with bringing in great players/managers and most ending up in failure.

whatever happens i will be behind the guy only i would prefer capello though.

Is this a Joke? No pressure Job at Chelsea? So what is the motivation for the Manager?

Perhaps he will (if he's coming) see it as a challenge. To see if he can achieve what he did at another place, that does not have its roots in "total" football, or whatever they call it.

Now, I promise I'll throw up if we play that 3-3-4 shit.

It'll be lol'd out of the country by everyone from QPR to Man City. We'll lose every game 6-4 or something. I can just imagine him converting Mikel into a centre back or something and then watch Gervinho lol himself to death as he exploits his lack of pace.

Not being required to win trophies is a void insurance. It's the league form that got both Ancelotti and AVB sacked and while finishing 4th may be more acceptable we've got a lot of ground to cover and this time we face the challenge of replacing Drogba for real.

To be fair League form was in shambles when he took over anyway and was pretty much a case of hope that other teams drop points.

And considering with Carlo we finished 2nd and he still got sacked..pretty much have to win it every year to be in with a chance!

I just think the way they treat managers is a joke and has already been picked up on.When you have potenail targets come out and say 'I want to furthur not ruin my career by going to Chelsea'..it aint good. And winning the double and the Champions League and getting the flick..why bother?
